Busy at Thanksgiving?

Mom wants us to go to WDW again this year, but it'll have to be after Dad gets back from Iraq, so later this year. How busy is Thanksgiving? Mom seems to think it'll be busier than if we wait a week. We're just trying to plan around mine and AJ's school schedules so we miss as little school as possible, especially me! Thoughts? Maybe even later in December?

Thanksgiving week is one of the five or six busiest weeks of the year.

We are going around Thanksgiving too. I've heard that the week of Thanksgiving is crazy, but it slows way down the Monday after. I am hoping so. I'm even a little hesitant to go the weekend right after Thanksgiving because I'm afraid it will be too busy. But my MIL is organizing the trip, so it is really up to her.

We did it this past Thanksgiving, and I'd do it again. It was busy, but it's doable if you have a good plan.

We were at WDW this past Thanksgiving. We flew in on Friday and stayed til the following week. Yes, it was busy put not too bad. After the weekend it wasn't bad at all. The longest we waited in line was about 30 min. The first night we had dinner and really walked around taking pictures and taking it all in. Just plan your time wisely and it shouldn't be all that bad.

We went Thanksgiving week 2 years ago and we went to the parks as soon as they opened and did not have any problems getting on what we wanted with minimal waits. At about 11 or 12 the crowds really got crazy, so that is when we went back to the hotel.
