Busted by the Hurricane

Several weeks ago we had a short trip planned for my birthday. We has 4 nights scheduled at AKL. Because of Hurricane Frances our trip was blown away. We were able to fall under the Hurricane cancellation policy and get our deposit refunded.

If my reservation was at a DVC resort and we were staying on points, what was the Hurricane cancellation policy? I am sure someone fell into this same situation. Did you get your points back?

Our next trip is at our home resort (BWV). It is still technically within Hurricane season and the way this season is going we could find ourselves in a similar situation.

I originally had a VB and BWV ressie for Sept. 4 - 11, but Frances decided to mess up our plans. The week before she hit, we were on the phone several times with MS changing plans and all unused points were put back in to their original UY. I just got my points statement in the mail and it's a mess! I can't figure which way is up but I believe it's all correct.

You got a points statement in the mail??? I have asked for such an item several times and have never received anything. How do you get this? Does this show all your transactions for the year is this just a booking statement. I'm very curious.

They actually offered to send it to me. It's called a Points Activity Statement and it lists every transaction (bookings, banking, borrowing). I would think you could just ask for it. I understand that it can also be faxed to you.
