Bussy-Saint-Georges and Val d'Europe

Hello again!

I've found us a hotel in Bussy-Saint-Georges which is 10 minutes walk from the RER station. I've looked at train times and it's just 5 minutes to Val d'Europe and 7 minutes to Disneyland Paris.

Two questions. Has anyone stayed in Bussy-Saint-Georges before? We're thinking of getting food from a bakery or supermarket in the morning and taking it to Disneyland instead of buying food from the park. It'll certainly save us a few quid!

Second question, we've got a morning spare on the day we go back to England on the Eurostar. We have two full days in Paris, then up until about midday in the Bussy-Saint-Georges area. Is Val d'Europe worth checking out or should we head for one final look at Disney Village instead?

I've stayed in Bussy twice before and am looking at staying either there or Val d'Europe when I go again at the end of June / start of July.

It's a nice quiet place, the bakery right beside the RER is great! There are also some shops nearby. For full reviews including visitors tips, you might want to check out Expedia's listings.

Val D'Europe is worth visiting if you like to shop - it has a HUGE shopping centre, with lots of restaurants and a massive supermarket - great for stocking up on snacks for the journey back and also wine if you like to bring some back home. There is a Sealife Aquarium there, that would pass an enjoyable morning

It's amazing how much money you can save. I love the Disney hotels to bits, but in reality, it would have been almost £200 more expensive to stay closer. It wouldn't surprise me if I got from my hotel to the RER station at Disneyland quicker than if I walked it from Santa Fe!

OP, at which hotel will you be staying?

I like to go to Valle d'Europe, to shop at the outlet village. I haven't been to the real shopping mall though.

Anyone know it? Looks ok - although some bad reviews saying it needed renovating, although I believe that has now taken place.

I know where it is, have never stayed there, since I could never figure out whether they have in-room bathrooms or not.
Could you please post a review of the hotel after you get back?

Btw, if my memories are right, I think there is a supermarket just across the street.

hi im staying in bussy st george at the premirre classehotel next door to this hotel at the begining of august we saved loads by staying here (£169 for 5nights for all 3 of us )means more days in the parks So any tips about the station,the area and most of all the BAKERY!! when you come back would be great

I've stayed at that complex loads and it's great - it's about a 10 minute walk to the RER and the train takes no time at all. For my last visit last week I stayed at the Etap at Val D'Europe - right at the station and 58 euros a night - incredible!

I've just paid €495 for a double room for 7 nights which I think is very reasonable. Works out at £28 per person per night.

Thanks for the picture! At the time I was looking for it, the websites didn't mention anything about it, and after that, I haven't looked it up anymore.

Malton - that's right around the time I'll be there! A cornish pastie would go down a treat but there's as much chance of finding one there as there is of finding some HP to go with it

Maleficent - do you have a preference for Etap or Campinele? Any plus points for them? I still can't decide between going back to Bussy or trying Etap/Ibis.

Getting excited already just thinking that it's only 2 months to goooooo!

2 months can drag by so much!

I've just figured out that I'll have 44 whole hours to look round the park when I'm there... bliss!

No cornish pasties? OK, I'll make do with the other great French tradition: Yorkshire Puddings, Bangers and Mash and a nice cup of Yorkshire Tea.

Wishful thinking perhaps!

Breakfast costs extra at the Campanile, I'm considering having it once and seeing what it's like, and if it's not much cop I'll get something from the RER station instead.

I bought a box of Yorkshire tea once - it was last year when I was in Harrogate (pretty place) as was Pickering, Goathland and Whitby.

Great news on another thread, that you can pick up a 20% discount voucher in Disney Village if you plan to eat between 12 - 6, a good incentive to try a few places even though I'm on a budget.

I live 7 miles from Pickering!

I want to eat in the Rainforest Cafe when I'm there - so that 20% could come in useful, thanks!

I'm hoping I can get by on €300 for 7 days which isn't a right lot, but if we eat cheap I think we'll manage.
