Busses at POR

Trying to make a final resort decision for a trip later this fall. Contemplating POR which we have stayed at in the past and loved. Just had a friend come back though and say that during the same time 2015, bussing was a nightmare. Anyone else experience long lines for busses, totally full busses once they reach your stop, etc at POR recently? They said at times it was 45-60 min until they finally could catch a bus that had room. Anyone?

Having to wait through several buses before you can catch a bus that had room can happen at any resort.

With that in mind, if you are trying to make rope drop, be at the bus platform extra early.

Port Orleans Riverside has (or had) the drawback that there is (was) no orderly queueing for the buses. When the bus stopped, whoever was nearest the door got on first.

True, I guess my question is..are there any recent changes at POR that would have caused an increase in bus issues at the resort?

Short answer is no. The resorts don't have or control their own buses. All buses are sent from place to place throughout WDW by a central dispatch. That is why the PP said that on any given day any resort might experience a problem. And that problem might only exist for a brief period of time. It could be quite possible that another guest at POR during your friend's stay may have gotten to their bus stop at a different time and experienced no problem at all.

In other words, I wouldn't factor bus service into my resort selection process.

But if you really want to know if there was an ongoing transportation problem at POR during a specific time period, check through the older posts on the POR thread on the resorts forum. .
