Buss question

The hotels all tell me the busses to the parks only pick up 1 hr. before park opens. So how in the heck do the people that have early ADR get to them and how do you get to a park 30 min. before rope drop. I have never stayed onsite and this is very confussing. I have read that people get there early that stay onsite but the info from WDW says you can't get a buss that early.

There are earlier buses to get people to pre-opening ADRs.

As for the other, getting on the bus an hour before park opening time will get you to the park at least 30 minutes ahead of the opening, in a number of cases earlier than that. But you really need to be getting on that first bus because if you miss that one, it can be 20 minutes before another one comes.

Character breakfast buses start running around 6:30.

The line I got from the transportation CMs last year is the first bus leaves the resort 1 hour before the first thing scheduled at the park (ADRs, BBB, etc.)--not 1 hour before the opening.

That is actually a very good way to look at it.
Disney buses will get you to your destination in plenty of time. The only issue you may find with early ADRs are those ADRs at resorts that are not close to a park. Let's say you are staying at AKL and you need to get to BC for an early breakfast ADR. You have two choices....a bus from AKL to DHS and then walk to BC, or a cab.

Can you take the bus to Downtown Disney and switch to a resort bus there or do those buses not start early, either?

DTD buses do not start early because DTD isn't open that early in the morning.
