How strict are the dining dress codes? We are staying at WL for the first time in about a week and noted that Artist Point states they have a dress code "Business Casual" ... I truly dont plan on taking any dress clothes nor any "casual" business khakis etc. How about some khaki shorts with a polo? What about children?

Thanks.

I was told no cut offs, no tank tops, no muscle T's, no flip flops.

Basically wear a nice park outfit that day and you'll be fine. I think a plain colored t-shirt, with a pair of khaki shorts and a nice pair of sandles is fine.

Put the kids in their standard clothes, khaki or jean shorts (no cut offs), along with a polo is fine. I'd stay away from 'character t's' for the kids- go with a shirt that is striped or plain, not with a huge goofy pic on it.

I think their dress codes are hilarious. They make it sound all "fancy" but it's not. Basically- don't look like slobs and you will be fine. I doubt they turn people away unless they look really bad.

Other than Victoria & Albert's, the most any of the restaurants request is for men to wear "collared" shirts (golf-type) and for women, no tank tops, etc. Think of what you'd wear in a nicer family restaurant in your home town vs. a fast-food place. :thumbsup2

Thats what I sort of expected - I didn't expect to be turned away unless we showed up looking like a bunch of slobs; but just wanted to cure my curiosity - thanks!

Disney's idea of a dress code isn't what you'd find in the real world, and most park attire would be just fine, including jeans & t-shirts.

Straight from the '08 DDP brochure - "Dress code for signature restaurants is business casual. Not permitted in the dining room: Tank tops, swimsuits or swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, or torn clothing of any kind".

Business Casual at WDW is not like in corporate America. We wore khakis, collared shirts and nice sandals. I saw people is shorts, t-shirts and flip flops as well as men in suits and women in dressy attire. The dress codes are a little more flexible in the summer, from what I have seen. I feel we overpacked for some of the signature dinners we had.

Not to get off topic, but business casual is very hard to define anywhere!! I've worked many places where business casual is very open to interpretation! :rolleyes1

The code includes dress shorts, jeans, and even T-shirts absent any offensive logo. Kids can wear virtually anything (except perhaps a bathing suit).
