Since our tax dollars continue to pay these ex-presidents, I say put them to work. Clinton and former Presidents should help out for these causes. I applaud Bush for getting Clinton involved. With all the tax dollars that guy spent when he was in office he owes the American people his time. I hope he didn't charge a fee for it????

When it comes to spending our tax dollars, I think Clinton is far more conservative than Bush.

Isn't that the truth.

I had no problem with our money spent to go after Bin Laden, but Iraq was a different story. I do not think we will ever know how deeply massaged the intelligence was that lead to the decision to go to war. The end certainly will never justify the means. GWB spent our grandchildren's money (not ours - why risk a vote making the generation that goes to war pay for it!!!!)going after WMD that never existed.

Suuuure! :rotfl2:

Face it, you people were hoping Clinton would fall off the face of the earth. Instead, he left with one of the highest job approval ratings in presidential history. If anybody owes the American taxypayer anything, it's the rightwing Republicans for all the money wasted on non-stop investigations, impeachment hearings, subpoenas, etc.

However, the next president won't be asking for George Bush's help to even tell time. Without Rove, Bush can't tell the difference between the big hand and the little hand. And with the help of Jim Beam, Bush can't read the numbers on the digital watch.

Bringing this back to the OP, do you folks think Bush even knew it was a staged event? Hmmmmmm..................

I knew the soldiers were probably "picked" for their views (in the same way that our President's town hall meetings exclude most of those of opposing viewpoints) but I never thought anything would have been scripted. But when I found out that one of the soldiers highlighted was a military media liason I have to admit that I think the "conversation" was a little more scripted thatn I had thought.

Bin Laden, Iraq, Saddam all equal the same. Terrorism. The question of WMD do to poor intelligence came right from Clinton's own CIA. Clinton himself also claimed Saddam was a threat and the possibility of WMD did exsist. Bush for his reasons fully believed this too. We as Americans don't like wars and terrorist countries know we will eventually, like we have, cave in and turn the table around on our own leaders. This is what their hope is. We have shown this by our constant protests, negative media coverage, and the total lack of support for our President. We show how weak the people of our nation can be. We lost alot of lives in WW2 but we stuck it out and pulled together as a nation. We showed support for the desicions our leaders made. We cannot compare the war of today with the past wars but unity is what makes a country strong. We are showing none of that. On the economy issue. When Clinton came into office he inherited a strong economy. When he left office that is when the economy started going in a negative direction. Our military was cut in half because of Clinton. I'm sure Bin Laden new this. The 9-11 attack was in the works when Clinton was in office. That attack cost this country so much money. How would we not have a hudge deficit. So much of the problem lies with biased tv coverage. Lets cover the most horrible situations and run with them. Lets play on the public to get their sympathies. Thats how, in my opinion the terrorists win. We let them.

I think that terrorists win when they get what they want or when we react to them adversely, just like any bully.

Well said. Lets remember also that while stockpiles of WMDs may not have been found, (many believe they were shipped to Syria) They had everything they needed to get their weapons program up and running as soon as the sanctions were lifted. Lets not forget that the French were working towards that, with the Russians and Germans. In addition the horrendous corruption of France, et al, in the oil for food program, falsely lead Saddam to believe that he had nothing to fear. I have no doubt that we would be facing a very formidable enemy, as soon as the sanctions were dropped.

Rich::

If a bully wants to kill you, you may have an adverse reaction. If the terrorists are alive and we are dead -- they won.

So according to Rich, if we leave the "bully" terrorists alone, they kill us and they win. If we fight back and kill them, they win? :confused3

Why exactly did we invade Iraq?

The US wants a government in place in Iraq that will be friendly to US interests (ie., oil interests - it also makes for a good military base with it's central location - an excellent addition to the base the US already has in Kuwait which had the valuable water way access. People haven't been fighting over this same land for over 4000 years for nothing!).

Saudi Arbaia, best friend of the Bush family, is also thrilled that the US went to fight their enemy for them as well.

Ohhhh, it's all about the oil and land. :rolleyes:

The world should be thrilled that we are fighting terrorists. The terrorists are everyone's enemy.
