I agree. Unfortunately, some can't give any credit where credit is due. It takes a much bigger person to say "Hey, I was wrong" than to continue to make snide and snotty remarks to keep making themselves feel better.
Thanks Joe.

Ditto!

I heard talk two years ago that all WMD's were moved to Syria. I suspect that the US has special forces in Syria as we speak. We probably have special forces in Iran too.

I have always thought the conversations should be where are the WMD's since history proved Saddam used them. Instead of saying Saddam didn't have them, we should have been saying, Where Did They Go?????

And when your side starts being "bigger persons", we will too. As for snide and snotty, just take a look at your tag.

Newsflash! This WAS on the news 3 days ago. Fox must not have carried it because in it Hussein says HE would not attack the USA but warned another country may. When are you people going to wake up? After Bush is impeached?

Can't just have a thread to give him well-earned credit?

Good job, Mr. President -- to you, our brave hard-working troops and allies, and to the brave Iraqi's, whose fervent thirst for freedom and democracy is an inspiration to the world. :sunny: :goodvibes :sunny:

Nope, it's not going to be that easy. ;)

But I'll join you in thanking the troops and wishing Godspeed to the Iraqis who are currently trying to sort out their government.

And the Iraqis are going to need all the Godspeed they can get, since they have started killing each other in fervor now. I hope someone or some group can get both sides to see reason before a Holy War erupts.

Liberals just don’t get it. By not mindlessly supporting every single thing our President says and does, you are engaging in an activity that brings comfort to our enemies.

America-haters betray our way of life when they take issue with George Bush. It is our duty as Americans to keep our collective mouths shut and blindly follow his every directive. The only way to show your support for our brave troops abroad is to show our support for our brave President here at home.

Anything less constitutes behavior that can be fairly labeled as treasonous. But do treasonous, America-hating liberals care? Of course not. The only thing these traitors get worked up over are their soymilk lattes. Liberal Bush-haters are too busy making hotel reservations at the Sundance Film Festival to give more than a passing thought to the issues that concern real Americans.

So I say we support our President by posting every suspect piece of drivel we can find on this message board. And we post this drivel without regard to its validity. Lets face it, the value of news isn’t determined by its “truthfulness”. The only value news has is whether it can unconditionally support our President. News that defends our president is highly valuable. News that exposes our President as inept and incompetent (no matter how truthful) has no value whatsoever.

Have any of you praising Joe's OP even read the news reports about these tapes? Instead of reading the op-ed piece that Joe posted, you might want to do a simple search and you'll see that there isn't a whole lot of meat to this story at all. No rational, unbiased reader of any of the actual reports would say that it proves that President Bush deserves an apology for being right on WMDs because of these tapes.

As far as hoping that the President will one day actually be proven right about the war in Iraq and the search for WMDs in Iraq? As an American, there is nothing that would make me happier than to be proven wrong. A tape that says that Saddam was dicussing with some of his people how to possibly get his hands on a few weapons over a decade ago is not it. Call me a stickler, but some Americans like to get actual proof of WMDs before they cannonize President Bush.

It strikes me that if this topic is worthy of a good news post, there must be a shortage of decent good news.

I doubt that history will prove Bush was right on a majority scale, even though retrospect is a fine thing, numbing all wounds. He will sadly be remembered as they guy that invaded Iraq for al lie, for better or for worse.

[EDIT] Still, good news is good news.

You're right, they don't get it.

But that aside, your "funnyness" has just about worn off.
