Bush at 36%, how low can he go?

I think a lot of people back then were under the impression (wrongly so) that all the soldiers in Vietnam ever did was to set innocent children on fire with napalm and bomb civilian targets.

And history will repeat itself, showing that the images you put forward and the stories you and the main stream liberal media cling to will be proven wrong.

The world will be a bettter place tomorrow, because of our actions today, in regards to the middle east.

The delusional beliefs that these people hold, such as the belief you quoted, are exactly why they are in the minority, and will never be taken seriously. Neither in this country nor the world.

They're not looking for serious discussion, only to spew their garbage. These folks don't live in the real world, the interent is the only place they can come together and find such wacked out companionship.

YOUR GARGANTUAN INABILITY TO EXPRESS REASON AND TO HOLD A LOGICAL DEBATE SADDENS THE WORLD, AS DOES YOUR ODOUR. FURTHER STILL, YOUR INEPT GRASP OF HUMOR IS SO GROSS THAT SMALL ANIMALS ARE FORCED TO COVER THEIR LITTLE EARS FOR THE DURATION OF YOUR FOGHORN-LIKE MOUTH OF EVIL FLAPPING THAT EXPORTS MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF TOXIC FUMES UPON EVERY OPENING, THUS CAUSING GLOBAL WARMING.

I HEREBY FIND YOU GUILTY OF REPEATED CRIMES AGAINST NATURE, HUMANITY AND DECENCY. PLEASE REPORT TO SLAPPING ROOM 3 ON YOUR WAY OUT.

You have to make up your mind. You deride the UN as worthless repeatedly and those that give you the talking points at Faux News do the same. Yet, you stressed that it was important to invade a souvereign country due to violations of UN resolutions. Mind boggling!
By the way, Israel has been in violation of UN resolution 242 for more than 3 decades.

The UN is certainly toothless. Either the resolutions mean something or they don't. Point out to me how the UN has any value if they fail to enforce their own resolutions?

But if the UN was worthless why did we care if Iraq ignored their resolutions? You can't empower and unpower the UN only when it suits your argument.

We can only hope so at this point. I think it is far too soon to know whether the story will have a good ending or not. Let's just hope that this democracy that our troops and over 30,000 Iraqis have died for so far won't end up an Iran-style Islamic theocracy.

Most of those stories were leaked out of the defense dept. and other military personnel if memory serves, not the evil media. Most newsmen were not embedded in the thick of things as they are nowdays. As to a better place, I would much rather have a few Middle East leaders shaking hands in front of the White House lawn as opposed to a war anyday, but that's just me.

Has Bush found the WMD's yet?

Really? Care to share just where he found those stockpiles he claimed Saddam Hussein had especially in light of the fact that Bush himself said the intelligence was wrong. Well, then again, the intelligence wasn't wrong enough for Bush since there was just enough to cherrypick and hope the water carriers would do their job.

Apparently, the water carriers did and still are.

Most don't care about the UN. But some of you do and that's why it was pointed out.

it's a nice thought, but I highly doubt it. it's the most unstable region in the world and always will be. but let's invade and give and take life in W's little experiment. how bad could it be? we'll have colonized Mars before the there's peace in the middle east, or they vaporize each other. maybe little butter-head W is a genius...invade, occupy, divide. let them kill each other in civil wars. oops, we tried, they did it to themselves.

btw, I'm voting for Captain Capslock in 2008, if I have a choice in the matter.

I agree..

Because we were instrumental in setting the terms for the first cease fire. It has been our planes that were fired on repeatedly in the no fly zone. Because we spent lives and treasure in settling the first dispute. Because Iraq agreed to full disclosure and open weapons inspections and they circumvented that at every opportunity. The USA has repeatedly attempted to do business with the UN and continues to do so despite their many and serious short comings. An organization in which "food for oil" was a profiteering enterprize garners little respect in the real world. An organization in which Cuba and Libya are on the human rights commission is hard to be taken seriously.

It wasn't just pointed out, it is repeatedly used in arguments to suit purposes. That's why we bring it up.

She didn't say worthless, she said toothless. They don't mean the same thing IMO. It's like a little doggie that barks and barks and barks but doesn't bite.

If you think the UN is a worthwhile organization, why don't you expect more from them when they need to stand up to tryants like SH instead of sucking money from the "Bribes for oil" program.

Well, it certainly begs the question that if the UN is "toothless" and not worth a damn, why the hell would you care if the UN resolutions weren't enforced. The UN is either a worthwhile organization and therefore has resolutions worth enforcing or it isn't. You cannot have a worthless organization with resolutions worth going to war over. Make up your mind.

Look, either we are in or we are out. If we belong to the UN we should respect it's decisions and rules (we do have an equal vote and also veto power) and not go off on our own when it suits us. If we feel we are so oppressed by them, then we should leave, but until then we can't set our own rules and we should not expect the other members to follow us like sheep even when they disagree with us.

Why do you say that? In you opinion, are the people in the midle east incapable?

The Capn' has about as good a chance as the last two democrat candidates.

Here we go again. If the UN cannot be taken seriously, why take the resolutions seriously? Do you ever think beyond the talking points?

Btw, do you know how many planes were hit by Saddam Hussein in the 12 years of the no-fly zone? None.............that should've told you something right there.

Because we were a party to those resolutions and we took them seriously. With regard to the planes; we have excellent pilots.

We certainly can go off on our own when it is in the best interest of our country to do so. We do not allow ourselves to be "oppressed" by the UN, at least not under this administration. When you see that it was France, Germany, Russia and China that had veto power with regard to Iraq and then you see which countries were most deeply involved in oil for food, then it should be apparent to you that there votes should have been null and void!
