At least he admits that what he is shoveling is propaganda...

Below is from the PR Newswire:

Remarks by President Bush in a Conversation on Strengthening Social Security

For entire speech see the link below:

"...Now, a personal savings account would be a part of a Social Security
retirement system. It would be a part of what you would have to retire when
you reach retirement age. As you -- as I mentioned to you earlier, we're going
to redesign the current system. If you've retired, you don't have anything to
worry about -- third time I've said that. (Laughter.) I'll probably say it
three more times. See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things
over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the
propaganda. (Applause.)..."

Bet he didn't clear that one with Karl Rove. Don't you know his handlers cringe every time he speaks off the cuff?

Stick to the text Shrub........

Propaganda: "The systematic propagation of a doctrine or cause or information reflecting the views and interests of thoses advocating a doctrine or cause".
I don't believe that President Bush has made any secret of his desire for a change in the Social Security system. One could say it is a "cause". So have you discovered some deep, dark, secret untruth? I don't think so. Propaganda is not a synonym for a lie you know.

I guess if you hate Bush, his jokes aren't funny.

He's working on the SS problem that many have been ignoring for so many years. I look forward to personal retirement accounts. Good job Mr. President. :sunny:

Propaganda is not a synonym for a lie you know.

Propaganda is propaganda. There is a reason it has a negative connotation.

But Bush has been using propaganda for years - repeating and repeating and repeating, until the masses believe it.

WMD, WMD, WMD, WMD, WMD....

Just good to hear him finally admit it.

I'm sure he meant to say, "agenda." Slip of the tongue.

WMD, WMD, WMD, WMD, WMD......how did you describe it when those words came from Clinton's lips?

Did Clinton take us to war? Nooooooo...

But I agree, it ain't all the fault of the Prez. The Secret Services in America and Britain are both just as at fault, the nits.

WOO HOO! 10 posts to get back to Clinton!

The point was, Clinton, along with the rest of the world believed that Saddam had WMD's.

When a leftist poster makes a joke they :rotfl: , but when the president makes a joke it's a big propagandist plot.

Not all of us - well, me and my gran didn't believe it :cool1:

And don't sound so down - you won 10 points!

We're going to have to start charting this and awarding badges to the first right winger who says the name Clinton....:)

Now....what do we want that badge to look like?:rotfl:

when the president makes a joke

When he makes a joke, let me know.......:sunny:

He reminds me of a child who does something that elicits a giggle from the adults, one laugh and he thinks he's done something really great so he has to take it one step further, usually resulting in going a bit too far.

I'm sorry but I don't see anything humorous in the leader of the free world making jokes about propaganda. I don't care who the man is in office, and I think it was more a freudian slip than a joke.

Hey! Is 10 posts the new record ?

I apologise if english is not your first language but do you actually understand what the word propaganda means?
