Buses taking too much time to get to parks

More room on the bus for me.
:lmao: I was thinking the same thing.

Look, if the bus system is bad enough that most people start driving their own cars, then there will be a point where the roads are too clogged with cars and guests will start choosing the buses again to avoid the hassle of driving in it themselves!

Personally, I'm to cheap to rent so I'll sit on the bus. The money saved is worth the time spent -- besides, my DH says I'm waaay too commando and I need the time to do nothing but look out the window.

Whenever we visit Mickey I'm just happy to be there, so the bus rides never seem extraordinarily long to me or inconvenient. It's vacation! Just mellow out and enjoy, why stress about the minor things?!
Amen!!
We drive now because we are local, but when we used to visit WDW from Chicago, we NEVER rented a car. I can't remember ever paying much attention to the bus's route or how long it took to get somewhere. I was just immersed in the wonder of being at Disney World!! We knew we would get to our destination eventually, so we never saw the need to stress about it.

We did have an interesting experience once, tho. We were waiting at the bus stop for our hotel (might have been AKL but I don't remember), as were a queue-full of other people. The bus that pulled up to our stop had a different hotel on the marquee (I think it was CBR), but it was at our stop so we all trooped on. The rest of the people must have been as brain-dead as we were, as no one saw that we were going the wrong way till we pulled into the wrong hotel!!! Then everyone started yelling to the poor bus driver...he insisted he was at the right place but had to give in because he had a busload of guests insisting that he was wrong. All I can figure is that he pulled up to the wrong stop at the theme park. It was no biggie....he just turned around and took us to the correct hotel.

I don't how they run their system down there, but I am a school bus driver and I couldn't imagine not listening to my dispatch radio constantly! Also, some drivers may be more comfortable taking certain roads. It's not so easy to turn a huge bus onto a narrow road at a crowded intersection. Be kind and be thankful to get to your destination safely. Our company motto is...

Start late..stay late. safey first..schedule second.

We always drive down from CT, and then for the most part the car stays at the resort until we leave to go further south and visit family. We would rather take the bus than drive, and have to fight the mass exodus traffic from the theme parks at the end of the night. I never really noticed that it took a long time to get anywhere, but now it looks like we might be driving to the park on the first day because we want to go to Chef Mickey's for breakfast and make Magic Kingdom for park opening, and it doesn't look like there is a Disney Transportation way that will let us do that since MK doesn't open til 9 and we want to go to Chef Mickey's around 7 or 7:30. Or we may end up having to do the two on different days. We will see. Anyway I would rather take the bus than fight the traffic leaving the parks.
