When I worked in bus ops, I knew of at least 2 drivers that were in similar situations, and both lost there jobs. 1 had his arm broken by an outside charter bus driver. Even though both drivers defended themselves, from unprovoked attacks, they were terminated under the no fight rule.

So basically the bus driver has to just sit there and and take it? Not even try to stop the attacker from attacking him? What an asinine policy and if so it's an asinine policy.

I don't believe that is a policy for one second.

And at the same time any attack on a public transportation driver is a federal offense, strange contradiction.

Disney spent about 5 years "studying" how to incorporate computerzied dispatch, gps, and realtime re-assignment of transportation to minimize wait times, reduce costs, and improve (and i love this company term) "guest satisfaction"...

Magic On Demand....

apparently it didn't work quite as well as expected...because it sure seems as if the amount of complaints have increased and there have been way too many transportation accidents of serious natures over the last couple of years. The latter being the alarming one.

That...and people are far too impatient and inconsiderate. But hey...that's not exactly a breaking story.

OMG! this whole situation has made me so mad ! Who THROWS a baby?!? What The Heck!!!

Someone who has no respect for his wife or his children, someone who would strap a bomb to his waste and blow something up.

That is very sad, I hope it isn't the case it would be very disapointing to many I am sure to know that their Cast Members mean so little to them that they are not allowed to defend themselves. I am not saying it is the case, I worked for Disney many years ago (at The Disney Store, not in Disney World) but I always felt like we were very valued, I hope that hasn't changed. If I do hear he is let go, I will for sure write a letter. I love Disney, and I think the Cast Members are a lot of what makes it a magical place, they should be respected and taken care of for sure.

I could see how someone could blow up. I have been to disney many times and it is very tiring. I have had meltdowns at disney though not physical. Any way it does not give him the right to put his hands on another human being. Also someone posted about the person videotaping this, they sound like teenagers and if you ever are around teenagers they do not react like a mature person. So their laughing on video can't tell you how bad the situation really is. As far as people coming into the scene and breaking up a fight, like another poster wrote, watch "what would you do?" I am amazed at what people will not do or do. For instance same scenario but different race, just about everyone called the police when it was black kids vs. white kids (outright vandalizing a car). I know people don't want to hear the race card but that is probably why not too many intervened. Also the fact that it probably happened so fast and people so tired that reaction times slow down a great deal. I know I get the disney duhs when I go. And re: people trying to get off the bus, how could you when the "scene" was taking place at the exit. As far as the "strangler" should get privileges because he has a child, just about everyone at disney has a child or is in a wheelchair.

re: witnesses-I work for an attorney. attorneys have to travel to the witnesses place of residence to take their depositions.

I just need to put in my two cents. Unfortunately another bad thing happened in the place where I feel the most comfortable. Will I go back, yes. We were just there and for the first time ever, someone actually offered me a seat on the monorail. I have very overweight and have problems with my feet but refuse to use a wheelchair and this little bit of kindness from a stranger makes it worth going. Will I use the bus transportation, no. I hate it. You have to wait a very long time to sit on an overcrowded bus. We always rent a car.

What everyone should learn about this: try to be kind to your neighbor, don't think you are better than your neighhbor and if you see something wrong being done, intervene, even if it means calling 911.

Same here. I would have absolutely taped it as well.
I would most definitely have taped it too, both to have a record of what happened for Disney (and to hopefully defend the driver) and to put on YouTube to show the world what a jackwad that guy is. All the hits would just be a nice side effect.

We have been to Disney a number of times over the last couple of years and have always used Disney transportation. On our last trip, this September, you could definitely see the impact of cost cutting measures on the transportation system and many times tempers were flaring even at times other than closing.

Tired adults, sleeping or grumpy children, long bus waits, and packed busses add up to potential issues. Many times you would have to wait for at least an hour to get a bus back to your resort, and instead of bringing in extra busses to move people the busses came in 15 to 20 minute increments. Unfortunately there were hundreds of people in line to get on that one bus. Not very magical and doesn't excuse bad behavior but after this last trip I am amazed we are not hearing about more of these problems.

Also while we were there the monorail was having issues so people fuming about due to missed ADR's and the inconvenience of being stranded at X resort when they needed to be at Y.

Someone who has no respect for his wife or his children, someone who would strap a bomb to his waste and blow something up.

Really? Really this is what this is going to degenerate into? So he's a terrorist because he's Arab? No.. he's a inconsiderate, selfish, entitled person.. but do we have to whip out the racist remarks?
Disgusting. So you've never met an American with no respect for their wife or children?

For some reason I believe that if this family got on a bus in a first place, conflict would still happen. They claimed they waited for an hour, meaning everyone on a bus was tired and chances are nobody would offer them a seat. Something tells me man could start fight with passangers since "they had a baby and supposeto be priority".

I 100% agree with you. Once he got on a moving bus, standing right next to the driver, who knows what that crazy loon would have done- he would have found something else to complain and start a fight about.

And this is another example of why some people should not be allowed to have kids. Throwing a baby? Really?

I cut the rest of your post because I just wanted to comment on the videographer.

On WESH Channel 2, one of their reporters did interview that person, and, yes, there were 3 teenagers together, one of whom did the video. So your conclusion about their reaction was probably correct.

First off, WDW is still the happiest place on earth! Just becuase you have a few idiots that act like this! I know that my DH or DS probably would of gotten involved, whether its right or wrong, I just know them.

But one thing just sticks in my mind, is why everyone wants to turn away and not help. It apparently was very upsetting to alot of people as you can hear people screaming. Then people yelling for security. Maybe someone could of broken out the emergency exit and helped people get off of the bus especially if there were kids aboard because you never know nowadays if someone is carrying something! It seemed it took a little longer then it should of for security to get there. People need to get involved and not look the other way and maybe there wouldn't be so many problems today. Some people just think they can get away with anything because everyone is afraid to come forward due to retaliation!!

I also don't care how long that guy put his hands around the bus driver's neck because all that matters is he did do that and who does he think he is!! I hope he gets whats coming to him.. Whats goes around comes around!!!

WDW is no way at fault on this one!!

Someone who has no respect for his wife or his children, someone who would strap a bomb to his waste and blow something up.

Or to his waist...

OMG!!! There was garbage everywhere when that bomb blew up!!!

Sorry... The visual was just too good not to share... :lmao:

This is just horrible....I cant believe that someone would do something like that.
I read that he was thrown out of his resort and banned from WDW. Just wondering how they would keep him out of WDW. I realize they can have him flagged on their booking system, but if he bought tickets from undercovertourist or somewhere like that and stayed off property, then how would they know? I agree that he should be banned, but how can they inforce it?

they look to be foriegn by the way the wife was dressed. the ladies do not disrespect their husbands ever. where they are from that is a very punishable crime. so i dont know what is sadder in this situation. if i would have been there and seen him throw a baby at the bus he wouldnt of had a chance to get to the bus driver i would have put that guy out of his misery.

Now because of this fool, she's banned from WDW.
