Busdriver Attacked By Guest

Good point. I guess I am just thinking how I would have reacted and I can tell you I wouldnt be laughing and holding a video camera so I could get a bunch of hits on youtube. I guess it takes all kinds.
I think I'd be videotaping it too, but not for You Tube, I'd be taping it so when security came, I'd have it on video. Not that Disney doesn't have an extensive security system themselves, but I don't know, maybe my camera would get something their's couldn't.

Several years ago, I was at a store when it was robbed. I always thought I'd be the more proactive one...looking for my cell phone to call 911 or whatever. Nope. I couldn't get out the back door fast enough, and I didn't give a flip for where anyone else was or what they were doing. I was getting the heck out of there.

you were like George Costanza when the fire started in the kitchen at the kid's birthday party! :lmao:

you need to change your story...you were showing otherws a path to saftey...:rotfl:

It sounds like another example of someone thinking they are entitled. But the bottom line is that the bus driver is in charge of the bus and what he says goes. If he had a problem he should have gotten the name and bus number and complained when he got back. Did security ever come? I couldnt tell from the video.

Security is clearly present about halfway through (orange vest). Also, you can see the reflections of the strobe lights from a security vehicle on the bus.

Same here. I would have absolutely taped it as well.

What a mess. It's just so sad for everyone involved. I will say I appreciate the reaction in the crowd where someone yelled for Security over and over. I think it probably was the wisest move rather than intervening.

It's just so sad. And I guess it's minutia compared to the rest of the situation but the way that mom was holding that baby after it all happened didn't exactly seem protective or nurturing. It was almost like the kid was cargo. I really try not to judge how people behave and maybe it's a cultural thing but it struck me as an odd posture. Weirdness.

Well, it's made the national news. I knew it was just a matter of time. Between that, and now it's being reported that the family of the boy that was killed by the WDW bus, is suing Disney, must have the public relations dept. working overtime.
Should be an interesting day today.
Wonder if they're issuing the drivers neck protectors?

Plus they are also suing the poor bus driver that was cleared of any wrong doing. It bad enough he has to leave with the memory of what happen but know he has to relive it in court just because these parents want money. Stay safe on those Disney buses.

Did anyone see in the video that family that got off the bus so the baby thrower could get on?

now the ocso saying they presume they both dont want to press charges because they didn't recive a call about it. I cant belive this the union want the tape to defend the driver he did nothing wrong he should get a call from iger and say thanks for protecting the bus. Not question what he did and disney said they are trained to handle these kind of sitution so he did it right put him back on the job he did everything in his power to keep the bus safe and other guest safe.

What a sad state of human nature. Does anyone know any updated details?

According to the Orlando Sentinel the bus driver has been placed on paid leave while its still be investigated.

The part where the man said "we have a baby, we should get priorities" just shocks me. Did the man want the bus driver to kick someone off the bus so they could get on? Those people who were on the bus waited for it just like the man, so why should he get treated special?

I found this on the transportion forums and hope he dosen't mind i copied it but it needs to be shared. Because this driver did nothing wrong and it sound like he going to get treated unfairly by disney. If this happens i hope everyone write disney and and let them know how wrong this is. so my be someone can get his name so we can write to show him support.

When I worked in bus ops, I knew of at least 2 drivers that were in similar situations, and both lost there jobs. 1 had his arm broken by an outside charter bus driver. Even though both drivers defended themselves, from unprovoked attacks, they were terminated under the no fight rule.

No details.Every news site keeps running sameYoutube video and tells same story we all know. Everything else is a mistery. I do not understand if no charges pressed why they investigate? Poor driver.

I think it is horrible. Does person have to stand and let others hit him? I do not understand, really.

I guess disney want their drivers getting hurt then defending them selves. I dont even call what he did a fight he just pushed him a littel to get him off his neck h didnt push him to the groundor hit him again. i cant belive they would even think of firing him.

For some reason I believe that if this family got on a bus in a first place, conflict would still happen. They claimed they waited for an hour, meaning everyone on a bus was tired and chances are nobody would offer them a seat. Something tells me man could start fight with passangers since "they had a baby and supposeto be priority".

And for somebody who is so overly solicitous of their child's well being he sure set a good example by inciting an altercation with the driver in front of distraught parents and screaming children. Its very disheartening when a soul individual tunes out the sensibility of others just so they can manifest their own arrogance and self pride
