Busdriver Attacked By Guest

I'm skeptical about the baby-throwing for several reasons:

1. the comment made by the camera operator was too relaxed and offhand. Kind of like sheepishly saying "A bomb just went off." If someone actually threw a baby, I think the reaction of the operator would have been much more prolonged than what it was.

2. The baby wasn't crying and seemed to be in no distress.

3. The reactions of others around the situation is inconsistent with a grown man having thrown a baby (no outrage, no finger pointing, etc.)

My .02 as I'm in drdes' camp here to a large degree.

dont join my camp - i fight alone like rambo!!

i wouldnt be surprised if we ever saw the video, we would see something that no rational person would call "thrown" but hey someone has said it so lets join that bandwagon.

Hey! This guy must have been one of the ones posting in the kids deserve the best seats thread, what a coincidence!

I haven't read the whole thread. But while the guy should obviously be in some hot water, the fact that this is considered a "terrorist threat" is just insane.

Regardless of whether or not he threw his baby he still attacked the bus driver and I am sorry I do not see how that is considered an appropriate action to an overcrowded bus even if the bus driver did insulte him or was rude there is still no cause for what he did.

I doubt he would have used pepper spray in such close quarters. This would hit everyone on the bus, not just the subject. It's too dangers for such close contact with everyone packed onto the bus like that... and with minors so close by. I think I see who the undercover was, but out of safety/identity protection I won't say.

What worries me the most in this situation is the lack of a reaction by the mother during and post incident. She doesn't seem shocked that this had happened, or appalled at her husband for causing a scene. I wonder if this isn't the first time he has escalated to violence against someone for not having things go his way. I hope the OSCO investigates this fully. I wouldn't be surprised if he's started fights with other people in the past. Add that onto child endangerment for throwing the baby, as well as maybe running with child abuse (whatever the law is in FL on this) for using the child as a weapon.... I hope he learns his lesson. Big time.

(Policing student ;) )

For sure the pepper spray wouldn't have been used on the bus and personally I even doubt near it. I am quite sure, though I can't be positive, that a can of it wouldn't even come out on a place like a bus because of how it spreads. In October 2002 (yes, I remember, it was my DD16's birthday and my DD8 was an infant) we were at a restaurant called Kahunaville, think Rainforest Cafe meets Chuck E Cheese. Anyway, someone set off a large spray of Pepper Spray. I felt it before anyone else at the table and and shot up from the table not knowing what was wrong with me and ran to the bathroom running straight though the cloud of it. My DH came running after me when the restaurant was evacuated but I was beyond bad at that point and was taken to the hospital via ambulance. Thankfully we had famil ywith us to get the kids out before they were effected. I was in the hospital for several hours from the pain to my skin and eyes and for breathing it in. There is no way Disney is going to risk doing that to a bus full of people, no way. Even outside the busses, while I don't doubt they have it, I doubt it is used with anyone else around.

I have read through all 8 pages and just keep saying to myself, "He threw his baby?"

I agree. Seeing grown men act like children is not so shocking, but using your sweet, precious infant as a weapon is just beyond words.

Just out of curiousity (I should be careful what I wish for :rotfl:)...After watching the you tube video...in what situation do you think the guests putting his hands around the bus drivers neck could be appropriate?

1. if the bus driver hit the man
2. if the driven threatened the baby
3. if the driver threatened the wife

maybe he didnt say it loudly and noone heard because at that point noone had any interest in what was going on

etc.
etc..

you keep missing the point - i know as much about what happened as what you do - which is not much - i dont know if any of the above happened - maybe, maybe not but i dont see how you can draw conclusions

I'm intelligent to form my own opinion, too - it's just different than yours.

It's weird because you're the one getting upset with those (like the police who arrested him) who don't share YOUR opinion.

But, whateva'.....

i'm not upset - you are more than welcome to form your opinion - we live in a free country last time i checked (unless you are of middle eastern appearance on a disney bus in which case you will be tried and hung by a jury of disboards members who dont even know the full story!)

Might be wrong but the people recording this sound like teenagers so that "sheepish" tone would be kinda typical for that age group.

2. The baby wasn't crying and seemed to be in no distress.

Maybe the poor kid is use to daddy using him as a weapon.:confused3

Who knows how long it had been since the alledged baby throwing incident occured. I don't see much reaction from the bus occupants when the dude is strangling the driver either. 4.

I find it hard to believe he was holding the baby when in the opening moments of the video, a stroller falls down the stairs (thus implying he was carrying it).

Not trying to argue but who knows unless you were some of the unfortunate people who had to witness it.

No need to apologize. I never said what he did to the bus driver was "appropriate." Not sure how you made that leap from my simply trying to put the brakes on the baby-throwing speculation. :confused3

No, its called being intelligent enough to form my own opinion once i have full facts at disposal (and in this case I dont have an opinion since i dont have enough information).

typical reaction from some who cant handle people who dont agree with their own view.

There is a video in case you haven't watched it. ;)

Fair enough. Agreed.

Actually, my heart also breaks for young Mr. Skywalker (:01-:10) who is visibly upset (hands near his head/face). That actually upset me more than what the bus driver went through because I know all that kid's going to remember is that incident. :(

here we go I was waiting for the race card to be thrown out there!!! No one in this thread has said anything negative about his race the only thing they are talking about his disgusting behavior. So should we give him a pass because he is middle eastern and it obviously not PC to call any him out even though his behavior was applying because it secretly means we are all racist?

because you said you were in the drdes camp and he is obviously supporting this man and his disgusting actions

There is a video in case you haven't watched it. ;)

which shows no baby throwing, which shows the driver putting his hands on the man before getting himself throttled, which shows a bunch of people standing around who dont seem that bothered by the whole episode.

if you have a spare couple of minutes, go on this site and follwo the instructions:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJG698U2Mvo

its a fascinating insight into the human mind, and what we see and dont see - very relevant to witness statements and so on (in this case relevant to bits not on the bus fight video but which some are relying on e.g. baby throwing

Everyone is saying oh, poor wife. Really? The cowardly B**** ran off and hid in the crowd, leaving her kid, when security arrived.

Let's just add, if I saw my husband throw my child at someone, they wouldn't be able to find enough pieces of his body to stitch together to charge him with anything.

maybe she is scared of him and was thinking this is her chance do get away from him

you must have missed this

I work for bus operations and the entire incident was caught on the security cameras.Every load zone has a high def camera that sees the bus and load zone. We can actually zoom in with the cameras and read the drivers name and his hometown on his name tag on their uniform. Also in the video one of the gentleman on the bus,{I wont identify him} was one of our plain clothes security officers and was in the load zone at the time and witnessed the attack. Security was called along with the OCSO,and yes it took them a few minutes to get to him. This was because the bus was in load zone C7 which is in the charter bus lot and away from the regular Resort load zones near the entrance to Hollywood Studios. If you watch the video closely you will see flashing red and blue lights illuminating the side off the bus. When the wife saw them pull up the wife took off,and tried to hide in the crowd, and left her child with the husband. Other guests identified her to security. They were then removed from the bus and load zone and taken backstage. The gentleman was then arrested and handcuffed for assault on the driver. He is also facing charges for Terrorist threat due to the assault happening on the bus, and public endangerment. They were also ejected from the resort they were staying at,and trespassed from Walt Disney World property. They will not be returning to the Happiest Place on Earth ever again. Also everyone will be happy to hear the driver was not reprimanded for the incident, and continued with his job that evening. I actually saw and talked to him last night and he is doing fine.
Also forgot to add copy of the security tape was provided to the OCSO,they are in turn forwarding it to the state attorney for possible further charges of Felony child neglect and endangerment.
