Has anyone visited Busch Gardens in Tampa recently. I've never been there, this will be our first trip. Just wanted to know your thoughts/comments/tips.

Thanks!

I know that there are some threads about Busch Gardens on the Seaworld Discussion forum.

I've never been but you could also post this question on the Community Board, there are some DIS'ers that live near there, that could answer your question as well.

I'm going for the first time this summer.

I live about 20 mins away from Busch Gardens. I also have an annual pass for the park. I really enjoy the park. They have a variety of rides, lots of rollercoasters and lots of childrens rides. They have a big variety of animals too and you can see them up close. Now I have compared this park to Animal Kingdom and I think that B.G. is by far the better of the 2 parks. I not that much of a ride person (hate coasters) and I still enjoy my day there. They have 3 water rides which is very refreshing on the hot summer days. I would recommend this park. You can get through the park in one day if you skip some of the rides, two days would be plenty if you can spare them.

Not sure if you have seen their website so here it is: www.buschgardens.com

If you have any specific questions or anything else you can ask me here or PM me. I will be happy to help you. :)

Thank you so much for your help.

I heard the park is approximately 1 hour away from WDW.

I'll be staying in Clearwater Beach for a few days, I plan on visiting the park from there before we go to WDW. Once we're in WDW, we don't leave!:)

That is what we did this past January. We liked BG. It has something for everyone. The coasters for thrills, Land of dragons for little ones and "shows" for my parents. Either do they major coasters first or hit Rhino Rally. Not as good as Kil. safari but a great ride. My DD's had the most fun feeding the Lorikeets at Lory landing. If you have money to burn there is a special "Serengeti Safari " for 30ish dollars where you get some one on one with animals including feeding a Giraffee. The Dolphin show was cute and the Ice show is supose to be good but we didn't get to it. If a family can only do one park its my recommendation it has a little bit of everything. The draw backs are: In the "middle" of Tampa and no fast past. It is not as themed as WDW or landscaped as nice as SeaWorld but it still nice. Checkout Kelly site www.theotherorlando.com He has a nice description of everything at the park.
