How long is the drive from universal? How bad is the traffic? I was thinking of going on either a Saturday or Sunday to miss the traffic. Any idea on which day would be better to avoid the crow. We will be there in May. Thanks.

Probably around 1hr maybe slightly longer . never had a problem with traffic , but would try and avoid the weekend, as apparently lots of people head to the parks at weekends, when they are off work. I would try any midweek day

We went last August. Drive was traffic-less and took about 1hr 15min. As pp, more local annual passholders on weekends.

To add to the others, if you go on a weekday, be watchful of the times...Tampa rush hour traffic is NOT fun to sit in. Best to head back to the Orlando area well after 6p or later to avoid it, and get into Tampa sometime after 9a if possible
