This trip we were thinking of going to BG one day. How far from the Disney area is it. We are staying at Windsor Hills.

Thanks and Happy Easter everyone!

It is around 60-70 miles i think about 1 1/2 hour drive almost all interstate. Also they used to offer free bus rides from sea world over there you might want to check that out to see if still available.

Thanks for the info. 1 1/2 hours huh? I'll have to see what DH thinks.

We did this two days on our March trip. We were staying off 192 and it was right at an hour.

We are pass holders, so didn't stay 12 hours or anything, but we enjoyed going over for a few hours.

No way 1.5 hours from WH. It is about an hour or less.

Curlyjbs we know our roads are crap but FL roads are wonderful to drive we always made it in an hour.

Down 192 west and onto 4 and it is easy sailing from there. Take my word for it we did it countless times last year we had year passes and we took all who stayed with us both trips and all loved it. From ages 67-4. There is something for every one.

Can't miss Katonga, Rhino Ralley and the coasters. I personally have not been on the newer coasters. But can not wait. I do a single crazy thing each time I go down because I have this irrational fear that if something happens to my kids who will take care of them if I am also hurt so I do one thing then beat myself up about it the rest of the time. I know pretty irrational but I did Kracken at SW that trip and was tortured enough for doing that. This past trip I did TOT and RNRR with my boys my husband left a little early so They needed me on the ride. Did not get to do Everest but Sept is coming.

If you don't get traffic you can make it in an hour or under, definitely not an hour and a half!!

From Windsor Hills, it will take you no more than an hour. We stayed at WH last Thanksgiving. There's also a better way to get to I-4 that will put you a little further West when accessing the Interstate.

When you exit Windsor Hills, you make a right on to 192 from Old Lake Wilson Road. Stay on 192 until the second traffic light, which is Griffin Road. Make a right. This road will lead you on to I-4 westbound also but you'll pick it up two or three miles further west (and most importantly, away from the 192/I-4construction zone.) It definitely saves a few minutes.

Have fun!

It all depends on traffic and driving style on how long it take if you go through tampa in the AM expect delays especially at the I4 I 275 interchange always backed up every single morning. If you arent in to roller coasters then just go to animal kingdom.

No disney for us this year. Only UO/IOA, seaworld and possibly BG. I also want to hit the beach one day. Hmmmm, where will I find the time?;)

We always went up 75 instead of going on to 275 (if my memory is with me this morning). Once you get on 75, it's only a couple of miles. It's a bit of a ways from 75 to the park. Maybe 10 minutes.

if you're driving from Orlando to Tampa and drive to the I-275 interchange to BG, that's your own fault.

That would not be my choice at all to go that way but thats the way alot of people would go and you know how that gets in the morning. Also if you go on friday watch out for the speed trap that PCSO and FHP like to run at the Lakeland BY-Pass in Polk City. They hide up on the overpass you will never see them till its to late.

I always take 75 and get off at Fowler.I don't think I've ever had traffic back ups going this way.So from Orlando take I-4 to I-75 northbound,it's like 2-3 miles to the Fowler Ave exit(exit 265) which you would take and go westbound for a couple of miles, you'll see the MOSI on your left and after you pass it you turn left, you'll see the sign.Where you turn is right in front of the University of South Florida,so if you pass the university you've gone too far!!
