I have read somewhere you can pay an additional fee and have a sarangetty SP? meal at Busch Gardens.

Is this or any meal packages worth doing at Busch Gardens?

I don't know about meal plans,, plans but Zambia Smokehouse (by SheiKra) is very very good. we ate there twice in three days last year. Obviously its barbeque, but its smoked right there in front of you. In all honesty I am from Kansas City, one of the barbeque capitols of the world, and thought it could easily rival the best from home.

I don't know that BG has meal plans...if so then it's something new. I live in Tampa and I haven't heard about them.

There is a restaurant (the Crown Colony House) that partially overlooks the Serengeti. It's full-service and pretty good food but nothing gourmet. They also have a quick-service area on the floor below with pizza and sandwiches and outdoor seating overlooking the plain as well.

The smokehouse is always good. Stay away from the Zagora Cafe unless you are REALLY hungry and don't want to walk-the food's not all that good and it's always packed at mealtimes. The Hospitality House in Bird Gardens is a good alternative (plus they give out FREE BEER!)

Thank you for your advice :)

I have no idea about it, hubby found the details :lmao:

Smokehouse sounds lovely, can you make reservations?

The kids and I did the Serenghetti Safari several years ago, which was a lot of fun...giraffes eating banana leaves right out of your hands. At that time, they didn't offer the meal plan with it, but I like the Crown Colony house because you can look out over the plain at all the animals. We saw a baby gazelle being born, which was really, really interesting (and fortunately we had finished eating!)

Why have I not done this safari thingy? I live down the street and I didn't know it existed! :(

The smokehouse doesn't take reservations, eeyore.donkey, and they can get very busy. Go on off times to avoid waiting in line. I believe the only place that does take ressies is the CCH dining room.

Have fun!

the dining safari isn't publicized like the normal safari is. the smokehouse is the only place we eat in BG since it opened. the desert grill has good food as well. I wish BG would move the SeaWorld menu to it's hospitality house.

Love your signature, Amity 3!!! grrrr.

I like the Desert Inn food better than when it was the Festhaus, but miss the old decor. We had our homecoming there back in high school--imagine my shock when I saw how different it was! Ah,well.
