We got back from a trip this past May and stayed at the All Star Movies. We enjoyed every minute of it except for the bus waits that take you and bring you back from the parks. :rolleyes1 I have heard that if you stay at a different resort that the bus waits are shorter, since the all star services all the all star resorts. :confused3 Can anyone tell me if this is true or not??? We are already planning our next trip for summer of 2009!!!

On the contrary, I always understood the values got a better service than the Mods and deluxes. In the past I always found that whichever hotel I stopped at always seeemed to have longerbus waits than for all the others, but that seemed to increase in direct proportion to how much my feet ached!

I know on the way back from the parks, if all 3 AS resorts have a bus on, I would often jump on whichever resort bus came first and then walk back to my hotel (via the food court/shops!) Obviously that doesn't work last thing at night when all the bus lines are long.

We've stayed at Pop Century during the middle of December and during Labor Day week in September, and there were never long waits for the buses (5 or 10 minutes maybe?). We usually used the buses early in the mornings. Wait times may vary during the day due to anticipated need, but in our experience waits were never long at all.

We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort in June, 2006 and June, 2007. The longest we ever waited for a bus was a little less than twenty minutes and that was because we just missed the Epcot bus. It also was at 10:30 a.m. or so.....not a particularly busy time of morning since the morning rush has already passed.

The typical wait time was about 10 minutes. Sometimes, it was a little more or maybe a little less. Many mornings, there were two and three buses at the bus stop at once. A couple of mornings, there were buses for all four theme parks at the bus stop.

One of the advantages of staying at a moderate resort is the fact that the bus stops are covered which shelters you from the hot Florida sun and typical Florida rain showers.

How long did you wait? If it was around 20 minutes then that is the normal wait time. While the busses service all of the All Star Resorts that shouldn't increase overall wait times to much, just make it less likely to get a seat.

for buses to AK and MGM.

I think they run every 15 minutes...and then we picked up Grand Floridian people.

I have always been very happy with the bus service at All Star Music.
I have stayed there 6 times in the last 7 years and the longest I ever waited for a bus was 30 mintes and that was only once. I find the buses usually come every 10 to 20 minutes during slow times of the day and even more often during busy times.

Of course when I am hot and tired after a day at the parks the wait times seem longer than they really are.

I hope you had fun at Disney!

We have stayed at the all stars and at POR (moderate)...our previous experiences at POR were that the buses were very efficient...however, when we were there in May of this year we thought the buses were very slow at both the resort and at the park...we saw more than one all star buses pass us while waiting at the parks for our first POR bus!! I am wondering if they did not have an issue with drivers or perhaps a shortage...:confused3

They are right, there are many factors involved here.
1. The time of year you go, in May the lines will be long. However; I think they have more buses servicing these resorts. Does that make sense. Two buses may come to the AllStars line for every one to the others.
2. The size of the resort. AKL is a huge resort so that line usually has a wait.
3. We like WL because of the boat ferry. But these buses will also service FW so all in all it is about even.

This still does not make sense to me...when we were there in May (8th-15th) it was not crowded at all...the parks were very comfortable as far as i was concerned...5-15 minute waits on most everything (although the boards said more like 20-30 minutes...it was not). I still say they had a problem with drivers or lack of drivers...we have never had this issue in the past...even at the moderates.

Longest we ever waited at the Grand Floridian (to go to AK, we monorailed everywhere else) was about 10 minutes. Same with going back.

Great bus service!

From my experience, it is true. I only recall on one occasion having a long wait for a bus at a mod resort, but I can recall SEVERAL times staying at a value when the wait was long. (Once from EPCOT, we waited 1 1/2 hrs for a bus back to POP while the other resort lines were empty.:sad2: ) It always seems that at park closing, the value resorts have the longest lines.:confused3

I remember when my parents and I would wait for the Contemporary bus at DTD, we would always see at least 5 more All Star Resort buses before our bus arrived.

I was at the pop in August and we waited FOREVER!!!!! I know it was a super busy time but it just seemed so long. We waited a good 45 minutes in the morning to get anyplace. I almost took a cab one time. It wasn't a lack of buses it was loading them that took forever. My sister and her family are going next august I'm going to tell them to rent a car.

When I went in january we stayed at the CBR and the most we waited was 15 mins. in a covered bus stop. That was a super nice trip :)
