Just wondering what the buses are like...it's been four years since I've been there, so this is a bit "new" to me since I stayed at the Poly last time. Our first day we plan to be at AK. I know to be at the bus stop NTL 6:45 to get to AK by 7:30. HOwever, we were thinking of going back to our hotel that afternoon (AOA) and then back to AK after dinner to get a few more times on our favorites, and then head to MK for EMH that night. Would that be a terrible idea with the buses? I can skip AK the 2nd time that day and just head to MK after dinner, but if we can make it work, I'd like to do that. My kids are 8, 11.5, 13 and 13 if that makes a difference..but even they'll reach their breaking points if we go go go.

Also...is there a way to find out how long it generally takes to get from the resort to the parks? That would really help me out.

Buses are hit and miss, but considering the logistics, overall they're pretty efficient. Our only noticeable long waits, were during our last stay at Port Orleans Riverside, and that was only on the way back to the resort. I'm sure due to the sheer size of the resort. We have not been back since the introduction of the new articulated double buses. I'm sure they have helped. However, any current observations will be affected by the extra emphasis on buses due to the monorail rehab. When doing park to park hopping, ask which resort is closest to your current location, take the bus there, take the next park bus to you destination. Suggestion though, take breaks at the parks! Find some air conditioned, peaceful, attraction; for example Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents, to name a few in Magic Kingdom. All parks have them!
