Bus Times on App

I think I've seen screen shots of Bus Times times from a resort on the app, but I can't seem to find it.

Is it only on certain versions? I have My Disney Experience on android so maybe that is why I'm not seeing the times properly? i.e. wait times and next bus

Thinking of booking a Disney Transportation excursion on our cruise. It drops us off at TTC. We aren't getting park tickets but thinking of going to Disney Springs for some time, and then resort hopping. So also want to see if the bus comes more often from one (monorail) resort vs another., etc Any suggestions appreciated.

We were at Disney earlier this year and the buses seemed to run about every 20 minutes during the day. Sometimes you might walk outside and the bus is just arriving or one might have just left to your desired destination. Typically, the walk from our hotel room took a few minutes, so it isn't like knowing exactly when the next bus arrives makes that much difference.

Frankly, we waited longer in FastPass lines for various rides, so waiting a couple of minutes for the next bus was no big deal to us. I believe there is something on MDE you can look at, but we never bothered trying to be that precise.

@Frozen2014 My understanding is that you will need to be an actual guest of one of the Disney resort hotels to see the wait times on your app. Without a linked hotel that feature won't show up.

_19disnA thanks for the bus frequency. True...you can arrive when a bus is coming or have just missed one. That helps so we know the longest we will wait.

Ah ok. Makes sense then why I couldn't find the screen shot that I have seen others post. We do have a Disney resort booked but that is for a different trip so guess that doesn't count...lol.. For this one, Port Canaveral is a port stop.

To get to Disney Springs from TTC, my understanding is it's best to monorail to Polynesian and then catch the bus from there? And now long would the bus ride be? I assume though, that you don't need to be staying at resort to use Disney bus transportation , right? (I'm talking about on DIsney property...not to MCO).

We've found the app to be fairly useless. 90% of the time, it said "information not available" when at the bus stop.
I’ve seen that too. It’s frustrating when that happens. Luckily for us, we’ve found the bus wait times are generally working and fairly accurate.

Just to elaborate on @SteveH’s post above, yes, you need to be a resort guest to see bus times leaving from that resort - the option shows up in the app on check-in day. You are only able to see bus times from the resort, you’re not able to see any other bus times - eg, park to resort buses, park to park buses, etc.

Your best bet in my opinion would be to walk from the TTC to the Poly bus stop and take the bus to Disney Springs from there. That bus will typically also stop at GF after leaving Poly. You could get on the resort monorail at the TTC and take it to Poly, but it’s just one stop, that would require a security check, and the walk is otherwise rather pleasant / easy (unless you have any mobility concerns).

Another option would be to hop in a taxi or Uber/Lyft from the TTC to get to Disney Springs. The taxi stand is in the same area as where your Port Canaveral bus likely drops you off.

Thanks for explaining. I get that you need to be staying at a resort to have this option, but strange that you cannot see all bus options as you may want to explore other areas or even get back to your resort.

Thanks! We have no issue walking to Polynesian from TTC as long as we can figure out which way to walk...lol.

Yes...taxi or uber is also an option we may do. I can see us doing this in reverse when we are done at Disney Springs just to make sure we make it back to the TTC to catch the return bus back to the ship. (Or to get us back with time to resort hop...depends on what we do and our timing).
