Bus, Taxi??

We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and are only going to the Magic Kingdom. We are going to the MK for one day and will come back for a nap early afternoon. After our nap, we will have a nice meal then head back to the kingdom. Does anyone else ever go eat at the Poly, GF, or CR after the nap time and bus trip back. It almost seems better to eat at the MK. I have read that it is a 25 minute bus ride to the MK, from AKL. I am not sure how much longer it would take to grab the monarail to Poly after we get dropped off at the MK. My biggest concern is having to be traveling a long time. Our day at the kingdom will already be shorten from our 4 hour break.

Has anyone used a Cab from AKL to the Poly? Any idea on how much that would be? Or how easy it is to arrange?

We have taken a cab from the dolphin to the poly. It was a few years ago, so I forget the price. I want to say with tip we spent maybe $15 They arrived within a few minutes after we called and it was very easy.

I would not want to sit down for 1-1.5 hrs eating (plus maybe waiting up to 30 minutes--if busy time, even if you have reservation) if I only had 1 day in MK and had a 4 hr break.
I would either eat at MK restaurant, or skip the sit-down dinner and eat counter service and eat at Poly GF, CR, etc. another day when I did not have MK ticket. Personally, I really like Boma's at AKL--but that will also take the same amount of time.
Also, if you take bus to MK, it's fast to take monorail to CR--1st stop, and then walk back (if you have a stroller) to MK.

First of all a taxi will always be quicker than a bus with a transfer!!
From the AKL there really is no need to "arrange" for a cab. Like other resorts there are cabs waiting right outside the Main Entrance. We took a cab last year from AKL to Boardwalk after dinner at Jiko's. We just walked out front and the next cab in line pulled up and we were off. I budgeted $20 for the trip and with tip it was less than that. It took about 15 minutes.
If you want to eat at the Poly, GF or CR after your nap I definitely would take a cab from AKL directly to that hotel. Then after you eat you can take that hotels transportation system (Monorail or boat) to the Magic Kingdom.
This method will drastically reduce your time in travel
