Bus stop order?

We have been to WDW the last 5 years and finally bought DVC in October. We have stayed at 3 of the value and CBR(twice). I was wondering if there is any reasoning for the bus stops at the parks and DD. I know that when we stayed at the values they were typically the farther away than most others resorts. When we have stayed at CBR the stop is typically mid-range (not the closest and not the farthest away). Does this then mean that the Deluxe and DVC will be the closest? OR is it just a game of chance as to where the stops will be?

For our trip in March we will be taking SIL and her family. She requires assistive transportation (scooter or wheelchair) for long term walking but would like to just rent them in the park and walk to the stops and around the resort, if possible. If the stops are going to be a longer distance I may be able to talk her into just doing a week long rental.

She is really concerned about the hassle it will be loading a scooter on and off the bus, and as much as I don't want to hold others up, I also want her to be as happy and healthy as possinle during the trip for herself and for her children.

Great question! I have a very similar situation when my MIL goes with us in July. I was wondering the same thing.:confused3

Moving to the Transportation Board in hopes one of the bus drivers or other Disney Transportation employee will know the answer. :)

I went to CBR with my nephew in May 2008. He was born with club foot and has had a series of operations which make long walks painful. His mom rented a stroller for use in the park. We would return the stroller at the stroller return. At that point we would switch to the courtesy wheelchairs and stroll him over to the bus stop. You can leave the wheelchair out there. A castmember would return it to the gate for you. The walk from the bus at CBR wasn't too bad.

Although the operations were a couple of years ago, all that Disney walking aggravates his foot problem. Stroller rental and courtesy wheelchair worked for us.

All the parks have courtesy wheelchairs at the gate. If you don't see one, just ask the nearest castmember to assist you.

Hope this helps.

As for resort placement at the bus stops at the parks....there is no rhyme or reason for the most part. Yes, usually the deluxes tend to be closer to the park entrance. But that isn't etched in stone. POP has a close bus stop at both DTD and DHS, but is way out in the boonies at MK and Epcot.
It would be nice if the bus stops for each resort had the same number at each park, but it doesn't work out that way.

This question comes up a lot.

I often notice little details, without even trying. There truly is no rhyme or reason to the placement of bus slots at the theme park bus areas. It's not standard that they are placed by level of resort ... it's just simply not true. Of course, it's possible it could randomly work out that way once in a while, but it's not done by design.

In addition, the order of the bus slots changes every now and then, at least annually if not twice a year or so.

Let me give one example about no rhyme or reason. We most recently stayed at POFQ, a Moderate resort. At Magic Kingdom, our stop was THE CLOSEST slot (well, one of the three closest). But at the Studios, it was THE FARTHEST. And guess who was right next to us, the next to the farthest bus slot from the entrance? It was the stop for Grand Floridian, Contemporary and Polynesian. The three Magic Kingdom Deluxe resorts had the second farthest slot from the Studios entrance.

Like I said, no rhyme or reason.

On a recent past trip, we stayed at CBR (another Moderate resort). Outside MK, we happened to have the same exact bus slot as we had during our more recent POFQ trip. And at Epcot, we were at the very very farthest bus slot ... I'm not certain that bus stop was still in Florida.

During our most recent visits to Hollywood Studios the bus for the Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian was where you saw it. So I guess it's been like that for a while or it's a coincidence that their location has not changed the times we had waited there for the bus.
