Have you ever been asked to show proof that you're staying onsite when you take a bus. Even after 14 trips, I cannot recall a single time I've been asked to produce a resort key or anything else for that matter.

I've always thought that the bus drivers are much too busy to worry about the occasional stray traveler. :p

I haven't been, but then again, you don't have to be staying on-site in order to be eligible to ride the Disney buses.

I have never even been asked to show any kind of proof that I've paid for "Transfers" from the airport to the WDW Resort. We've always just found the shuttle and got on. It always took us right to the resort that we requested, no questions asked!

On trips in the 80's we were always asked for our room key ID. Early 90's, every so often. Last 5 years, not at all.

This was what I remember also. I remember when we used to have to show them coming & going ... in the snow ... uphill both ways ... :jester:

I was once asked to show my room key at the Wilderness Lodge
pool but never in about a dozen trips to Disney have I had to show ID for the bus.

A multi-day hopper pass also gives you unlimited use of all the WDW transportation. So that just about covers everybody, except people just going in for the day - and they probably wouldn't use the buses because their tickets are only good for one park-one day! :teeth:

That was my understanding also... you don't have to be an onsite guest if you have a park hopper ticket or ap.

I have never been requested to show ID to ride WDW Transportation, but have had to show ID to get EMH at Parks.

As a bus driver, we will typically only ask for ID under the following situations:

During peak times when parks might be at various phases. (ie: Resort Guests Only)

And also after Midnight at PI, to make sure that people don't follow you home that shouldn't be.

I agree with Figment 2, I've been visiting WDW since 1973 and we used to have to show ID on boat launches, and sometimes on buses and the express monorail during peak travel times.

I remember having to show Resort ID back in the 80's, but not in the last 10 years.

The last time I was asked to show Room ID or park admission media was October 1992 in Fort Wilderness.
