Bus from DTD

My wife & I will be staying at the Holiday Inn across the street from DTD in March. We already have theme park tickets from a prior visit.
Is there any problem with walking over to DTD and taking the Disney bus to the theme parks (instead of the hotel's complementary shuttle) even though we are not staying at an 'on property' hotel?
Thanks

There is no bus from DTD to any of the parks. The bus service from the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd is fantastic, though, and does run on pretty much a set schedule of every 30 minutes.

There are no buses from Downtown Disney to any theme parks. You'll have to take a bus to a resort and then transfer to another bus, boat, monorail, or walk to a theme park.

Also, bus service from DTD doesn't start until around 10:00 am.

Thanks for the very helpful replies, I am clearly new at this.
This changes everything!

Aside from the fact that there is no bus to the parks from DTD....your park ticket entitles you to ride the buses. So on that part of your question the answer is yes.

I will second that the hotel blvd resort bus service is excellent.

While I agree that your ticket entitles you to ride the Disney transportation system , I am not sure it actually entitles you to go to a resort and use the busses provided for the guests paying to stay at said resort. The resort busses are crowded enough without adding offsite guests to them.

A guest is a guest whether it be a theme park guest or resort guest.

If you couldn't ride the resort bus then how would you get to an ADR from a park?

Anyone can ride any bus, boat, or monorail they wish to. There are going to be specific times that this may not be possible. July 4 is one such date....you might have to show a room key to board a bus, boat or monorail to get to a park if it's too crowded in the park.
But, otherwise, Disney just doesn't care who is riding buses, and where they are getting on the buses, and where they are getting off the buses.

Now....if I were staying in a DTD hotel/resort, there is no way I am going to trek all the way over to DTD to get a bus to a park. Not if my hotel provides a shuttle bus, even though it may take longer. By the time you walk over to DTD, get on a resort bus, travel to that resort and then travel to the park, you would have been there already, using the shuttle provided!!! And to get to a park early in the day??? Not using DTD. The buses just aren't all that reliable at that time of day...no need for them to be.

Perhaps I should have been more clear. The reason I posted what I posted was for the general public that likes to park at a resort or DTD(and then take a bus to a resort, or a boat to a resort) to avoid the parking fee. It is obvious that you would need to take a bus to a resort for a ADR and the post was not intended for them.
So, better stated: Resort busses are for the people paying to stay there and for those with business there, NOT for those avoiding the parking fee.
