I am not sure if this belongs on this forum or the transportation forum, so I am posting it both places. To get from the CR to AK and MGM using Disney transportation, would it be quicker for us to walk to the bus spot at MK or use the buses from CR? What about for the water parks? I have heard such horror stories about the buses from CR that I wondered if that would be more direct. As I recall, it is a very short walk from CR to MK bus spot. Thanks for the help.

you might get their quicker from the MK bus stops. but this is a big maybe.

the buses at the MK don't always return to the same place. So one coming from MGM - might go to a resort, other park, or water park - there is no way to tell..

the bus driver is surpose to tell you - the one from OKW use to go to TTC, TL, before returning to OKW...

but with the new schedule the bus driver don't know until they get told by the controllers.

so you could get the parks quicker or you might find yourself on a tour of WDW.....

I wish there was a way to predict. So I would stick with the buses at CR - they have to go where they are posted, and yes you might also stop at WL, Polyn or GF - but you should only stop at one other before leaving. I have never yet been on a bus where it stopped at all 4 MK resorts before going to a park.

with the new DME - most WDW guests than ever won't have cars - and Disney should be getting a bunch of complaints about this way of treating the deluxe resort. If the Pop century, CBR, CSR - doesn't have to share buses - why does the deluxe?

I don't think any buses run from the MK bus station to Disney/MGM, Animal Kingdom, or the water parks. Only resort buses run to the MK station. You would need to take the monorail to the TCC in order to catch a bus to AK, Studios, or water parks.

The last time I was at MK (May) I found out the crazy4wdw is right at TTC behind the gift shop and kennel is a restroom, and that's where I saw buses going to other parks.

The best thing you can do is stick with the buses at the Contemporary. Who knows what they would be like comming from the TTC & the MK if they do go to another Resort or straight to the park you wish to go to. At least with the Contemporary the bus goes right to it's destination.

If you can fit it into your budget, I would really recommend taking a cab to Animal Kingdom and MGM. The Contemporary is the first pickup point going to the parks, so after you board a bus, you will spend around 25 minutes picking up guests from the other resorts before you even begin your journey to the parks. A cab is great here and they are in the $20 neighborhood with a tip. However, coming back, the Contemporary is the first drop-off spot, so the bus heading back to the hotel is quite tolerable. This way, you are only spending the cab fare one way to two parks, so it doesn't add too much to the cost of the trip.

The busses from CR to MGM weren't bad at all. I think we spent maybe 10 to 15 minutes picking up guests at the Poly and GF. Then we were on our way to the park.
