Is there a bus that could take us from the Candy Cane Inn (or thereabouts) to Amtrak, to ride down to San Diego?

I've been looking but someone here probably knowspirate:

Yes, the #50 bus goes east on Katella and will drop you off within sight of the Anaheim station, at Katella and Howell. You then need to walk through a parking lot and a tunnel underneath the tracks to get to the station. Look at the inset on page 1 of the schedule.

Alternatively you can take the #43 bus north on Harbor Blvd to the Fullerton station. That bus goes to the Fullerton Transportation Center which shares a parking lot with the Fullerton train station.... schedule.

The fastest way to the Anaheim Amtrak Station is by cab.
ART also serves the AAS. But again, the quickest, and easiest way is by cab.

And that cab will cost you around $13 by meter, well, that's to the DLH. Dropping off at the entrance would have been about $10 by meter. I'd think it's somewhere in between those prices, as getting to the DLH seems really complicated.

The cab sounds like the best way to me, especially dragging luggage around, thanks!
Ahhh.... I thought you were going to the zoo or something, not relocating. Yep, you don't want to lug your luggage on the city buses. :)

Bumbershoot,

How is it, that by cab, it is complicated traveling to Disneyland? One would think it would be more or less, one straight shot. For I know where the Anaheim Amtrak Station is. A decent cab driver should not give one the run around. I hope that one of the cab drivers did not "give you the business" as the saying goes, because that would just not be nice, not to mention that would be down right rude.

Thanks all. I had a look on MapQuest and was surprised it is only 2 miles away, so I'll know where I'm going , so will grab that cab!

It wasn't to Disneyland, it was DLH. Disneyland's entrance would have been easy peasy, just drive on in. Going in the lot and getting into the DLH drop-off point (I was hoping I could store my stuff with them for the day...I couldn't) involved stopping at the gates, more little turns, more little lights and/or stop signs.

We had worked out a flat fee anyway, so the meter didn't affect me, but he had it on for fun.

Oh boy, Bumbershoot, that is a good thing that you had a flat fee. I should have seen about that from when I was leaving and then going back to the Amtrak station. Anyway, thank you for the explanation. It is good food for thought, and planning. :)

LOL, I got the flat fee b/c he said "around $13" and I said "whaaaaat? you're kidding!" or something like that. I wasn't in his cab yet, so he offered the flat fee.
