Do the monorail resorts share a bus from AK? I'm trying to tell a friend how to get to AK to MK, and I want to tell her the quickest way.

Is there a bus that goes directly from AK to MK?

I'm thinking that a bus to AKL from AK and then to MK might be quicker. But, it will be fun for them to ride the monorail.

Not directly from AK to MK, but there will be a bus from AK to TTC. They can then get a Monorail or ferry over to MK.

Is the TTC better than going to a resort? I have NEVER used busing at TTC in all my years going to WDW. We always use a resort bus.

I think it is hard to say better. All you do at TTC is get dropped off and walk up to the ferry dock or monorail platform. There are a few extra steps of walking involved going from TTC bus stop to monorail platform vs. going to AKL and just walking to the next stop over. Either scenario is probably only different by a matter of minutes. You could go to AKL and wait there. We just stayed there and the trip from AK to AKL was under 5 mins. The trip from there to MK was about 15 mins each trip - this also puts you right at the gates of the MK vs. say Contemporary where you would then need to walk to MK. Then it depends on wait times at each stop. Going to TTC you can hop on an express monorail right to the MK. Again, it will depend on how long you have to wait for a monorail train to arrive. I don't know specific timing for trips in this route, but as you mentioned you get to take a monorail ride. I also am not sure of multiple drops to monorail resorts, so someone with more info on that should chime in soon.

When going from the Animal Kingdom to the Magic Kingdom I would say to get on the Contemporary/Polynesian/Grand Floridian bus and when you arrive at the Contemporary get off there and use the walkway to the Magic Kingdom, which takes about 10 minutes. Plus the Contemporary is going to be the 1st stop among the three Monorail Resorts.

This is a good idea, I have also done this from MGM, the MK bus had just left and the Contemp was loading, so I got on that and walked to MK.

From AK:

There are 3 options.
1) Bus from AK to Contemporary/Poly Load zone 1
2) Bus from AK to Wilderness Lodge/Grand Floridian Load zone 2
3) Bus from AK to TTC Load zone 14 This bus runs until MK is clear, the others only until AK is clear.

Please: The only park that regularly runs all 3 Monorail resorts is Studios.

AK and DTD do not run CO/PO/Flo. They run CO/PO and WL/GF. The only time they all are combined is at AK and that is usually for the Rainforest guests after the park is closed. DTD will do a FW/WL/GF but I have never seen or drove a CO/PO/Flo. It has been this way since I started driving almost 3 years ago.

Well in my experience with the Animal Kingdom buses it has always been one bus for the Contemporary/Polynesian/Grand Floridian, unless things have changed.

I see you are going to be at the CR in Dec. Take note of the bus routes and see if they do what you remember of if they go the way I say they do.
