Is there a bus that you can get at TTC to Downtown Disney? If we're staying at the Poly, I wondered if it would be faster to take a bus from there, rather than from the hotel. We're already planning to take the bus to DHS and AK from TTC instead of from the hotel. TIA!

Nope, Disney had too many probs with people parking at DTD and bussing to TTC. Free parking. If there's a loophole, they've closed it.

Actually there is a bus you can take from the TTC to DTD. BUT it is not a Disney bus, you can take Lynx from TTC to DTD, it will cost about $2 per person.

I'm curious as to why you'd rather take a bus from the TTC. Is it because it goes direct rather than sharing with the GF? I think the TTC buses would be busy because of the Lynx bus from DTD and offsite hotels that offer a shuttle to the TTC only.

Since you are already at the Polynesian there is no reason at all to go to the Transportatin & Ticket Center to get a bus to Downtown Disney even if there were one. As for any possible time savings, you consume time walking to TTC.

Another reason has surfaced for discontinuing park to DTD buses: Not enough patronage.

Thanks everyone! I had just heard a lot of people complain about how long it takes to get from the Polynesian to Downtown Disney when you pick up the bus from the hotel directly since the bus stops at GF, CT and I think a water park sometimes. I just wondered if it would be faster to go from TTC, but I guess that's not an option. Thanks again!

Having stayed at both Contemporary and Polynesian, I've never found that sharing buses really adds to transportation time (as compared with, for example, multiple internal bus stops at Moderate resorts). On paper, it would seem like it should take longer, but my actual experiences haven't worked out that way.

That being said, most on-site Disney veterans will agree that Downtown Disney transportation in general takes longer than park transportation, to/from ANY resort. Don't know why, it's all supposed to be on roughly the same schedule, but few experienced Disney folks will argue that DTD bus service isn't slower than park bus service.
