I am not sure if this is the best forum for this thread....sorry Mods if you have to move this

Anyway...We are staying at Bonnet Creek in a couple weeks. I know its not a Disney resort, Is it considered at DTD hotel/resort? Do they have there own bus system and if so what has been the experience with it?

Your questions are much better suited for the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board. Hopefully you'll get some good answers here. :)

no it is not near the DD hotels.

it has it own bus service - it comes every hour?

so would definitely get a rental car for this place. besides you will want to go to the grocery store.;)

I stayed there in May 2007 and yes they do have bus service but we did not use it when we were there... I agree with PP's who said it would be best to have a rental car.... Nice resort tho :)

I should have mentioned that we will have our own car but was wanting to avoid the 12 dollar parking fees if I could, but I wanna be at the parks at RD so thats what I am concerned about....

$12 is a small price to pay for rope drop.

I'm a Wyndham owner, and I wouldn't dream of staying here without a car.

Agreed...that's why I was asking...Where all does the shuttle go?...DTD, Universal, anywhere on International BLVD....

My point was that it doesn't matter where the shuttle goes. It is not convenient, as it only runs at scheduled times. If you are going to have a car, it's best to just use that as your transportation for anywhere that you want to go.

We were at Bonnet Creek at the end of August, but we did not use the shuttle service. According to the August 2008 schedule, there is a FREE shuttle to the four parks and DTD. There are NO shuttle to the water parks.

Shuttle to MK & Epcot: 8:00am thru 12:30pm (every 30 minutes), 2:45pm, 4:45pm thru 7:45pm (every hour), 8:45pm (MK only).
Shuttle to DHS & AK: 8:15am thru 12:15pm (every 30 minutes), 3:30pm, 5:30pm thru 7:30pm (every hour).
Shuttle to DTD: 3:30pm, 5:30pm, 7:30pm, 9:10pm, 11:45pm.

There are also shuttles to Universal Studios, Sea World, Wet-n-Wild, and Orlando Premium Outlets. These are by "Reservation Only". The Universal Studios and Wet-n-Wild shuttles each cost $14.00 p.p. and the SeaWorld and Premium Outlet shuttles cost $11.00 and $10.00 p.p. This shuttle departs B.C. at 9:05am and 11:35am and B.C. is the last resort to be picked-up.

If you like to be to the parks at rope drop, I would suggest driving. BC is so convenient for driving - the location makes it really easy to get to/from the parks back to the resort. (although, we prefer to drive even if we stay on-site). We brought the bus schedule with us everyday to use as a back-up. For instance, one day we were supposed to be at DHS all day, but one of my DDs got ill. I was able to drive her back to the resort in the rental van, and my family returned later via the BC bus. It's so nice to know the bus system is available if you need it. If you didn't care so much about being there right at rope drop, I'm sure you'd be fine using the bus. Just note that it has a few departures to the parks in the mornings, and then doesn't make it's return trips to BC until at least mid-afternoon. That's not an issue for most people, just make sure that fits your schedule.

Hey Brian,
Know you are the guru on Bonnet. How much time would you give yourself in the morning to get to the MK for a 8:05 Bippidi bobbidi?

if the park does not open early - then you are stuck behind a bunch of other cars - so look for the character dinning (this is only opened in the morning - and closes are soon as the park opens)

give yourself at least 30 minutes. you not only need to park the car, then ride the tram to the front - then ride the monrail -then get in the parks and walk to the castle - better make that 45 minutes, if not an hour.

Pat's advice sounds pretty good. I never go to the park before rope-drop for breakfast, etc. I like my Extra Magic Hour of Sleep.
