Anyone hear about this? I read about it on another thread, I will try to post the link.

Dang what is going on. I hope everyone is ok and I realize the real world doesn't stop at the Disney property line, but what is going on here lately?

true, we sometimes forget and get so involved in the magic, we expect everything to be just perfect on property, but accidents do still happen. I guess it is just more shocking since we have such high expectations.

Hopefully all those guests and drivers are okay.

i know i can't believe this happened. it's been very accident-prone recently. it's odd. this barely ever happens. i'm so glad nobody died in this accident.

Hopefully this type of accident won't ever again and it's also the third bus releated accident that's happened the past few months.

The first one was in December 2008 while I was at the Contemporary, when that Disney bus hit a van parked in the buses only zone at the Contemporary bus station. The one difference compared to the other accidents is that it was not mentioned on the Orlando news channels while I was down there.

Then there was that other accident from two months ago where that bus went into a car on World Drive killing the driver and it was another sad story to hear about.

I don't think Disney is more accident-prone, but rather the news is more aware in light of recent events. I've seen numerous accidents on property, and have even broken a couple of those stories on these boards, which have never been reported on the news. One time when I worked at the Sci-Fi at the Studios, I was leaving to go home and saw a Disney company Suburban make a left turn at the red light intersection of World and Buena Vista, hit a car driven by a couple of high-school teenagers making them spin in a full 360, and then flipped the Suburban onto its side. It was around midnight in the spring, so there was no traffic. Since I was the only person who witnessed it firsthand, I stayed to fill out a report. Turns out one of the kids' parents was a manager at the Studios and was very grateful I stayed to substantiate the report. Otherwise, with the company vehicle involved there was a good chance the kids would have been blamed for it. The man driving the Suburban was quickly and mysteriously driven off by Disney security before the police showed up. We were told he would be resting at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the police can find him there for questioning. It was bizarre!

Also, about a week after this I saw a Disney bus on the side of World Drive right past the car care center by the Magic Kingdom completely burnt down to a skeleton. I figured it was newsworthy, but nothing was reported. I couldn't even get any details from my usual eyes and ears who work at Disney and know everything going on. No one else saw it, as if it never happened!

That's a good point because this past December when my family and I were at the Contemporary when that bus hit that van it was not reported on the news, when they had a lot of police cars, multiple ambulances and medical helicopters.

Plus in December 2007 just before the Hess Station which is located by the Magic Kingdom Care Center, a few a few minutes or seconds earlier there was an accident where two cars flipped over. I could tell it just happened because WDW security was just arriving to the scene. However that accident was not reported on the Orlando news channels that evening.
