Burnt Popcorn Smell???

Can someone tell me again why that burnt popcorn smell is around? I smelt it in between
Disneyland and California Adventure. Thanks!

I read somewhere that the "scent infusers" had some sort of accident where the "popcorn scent" had been burned onto something in the infusion system and that it was taking time to burn off the intense smell.

(Have I become the victim of an urban legend???)

I posted the trip report with the information about the burnt popcorn smell. The explanation was given to me by a castmember, and confirmed by another.

The reason for the burnt popcorn is become of an accident when making the popcorn smell. Whoever was doing it, spilt some of the as to make it run on the machine. So the machine is sending out burnt smells insted of nice popcorn smells.

Is the burnt smell still there? It seems like it should have burnt off by now!

Thanks everyone for the answers! You know as we were walking between the two parks
one afternoon, I thought what is that wierd smell, then I remembered reading on these boards
about the popcorn smell. It just was a different kind of a smell!!
