Burnt Popcorn Smell--Help!~

We had an "incident" with a bag of microwavable popcorn. Was put in for 11 minutes instead of 2! Now the entire house smells and the microwave is REALLY stinky. HELP! What will get rid of this smell? What is the best way to clean and deodorize the microwave?

You could try putting crumpled newspaper in the microwaver overnight. Or maybe a box of baking soda?

My DH has reheated fish in the microwave and the smell was just awful. We filled a bowl with water and lemon slices and put it on high for 10 min., then we let it set over night with a box of baking soda.

Put water and baking soda in a bowl and put it in your microwave for 10 minutes. Your microwave should smell clean and wipe down easily.

we had this same problem. It smells like a chain smoker has been living in our microwave. I tried the water, never the baking soda. I've had other foods that have made an odor, but they always went away with a couple more uses.

This happened probably a year and a half ago, and it still smells.
