Day Five-Tuesday 10/9

MGM Day-We all wake up and leave the WL for MGM. We have a breakfast PS at Hollywood & Vine. This was perhaps my favorite character meal. Hlollywood Minnie greets at the door while Chip, Dale, Goofy and Pluto make their rounds around the tables. The food was delicous: chocolate french toast (yummy), eggs, toaster to make toast, all the usual side dishes and the most wonderful coffee cake. We pigged out!

Since it is early yet, the only show going on is Little Mermaid. We get right into that show. The light up pins we bought start going off during the show! My kids really enjoyed this performance, but we did get a little wet!
We try to catch the 11:15am show of Playhouse Disney (my one year old LOVES Bear in the Big Blue House). We get in line, but we just missed getting in. Oh well, we will try for the 12:15 show.

We lose precious time when we got lost trying to Backlot Tour, so there is no hope of catching the 12:15 Playhouse. Backlot was okay, nice chance to sit for a while. Since we missed 12:15 Playhouse, we run out of Backlot to see the 12:30 Hunchback show. I missed this show during the 1996 trip and really wanted to catch it. It ws pretty good, but reminded me how weird that movie is. Too scarey for me.

Now we run to Playhouse and are the last ones to get in! I didnt know you had to sit on the floor for this one. Oh well, everyone loves the show. My son went nuts when Bear came out. It was too cute. Rollie Pollie Ollie, Pooh and Stanley also make an appearance.

Lets do some rides! We get to ride Tower of Terror twice! It does so many more drops now compared to 1996. My 8 and 4 year ols went on it. DID NOT LIKE IT! We then drag our 8 year old onto Rock n Roller coaster. She asks if it goes upside down...I say I dont think so (BOY was I wrong, sorry honey). She cried when we got off. But hubbie and I thought that ride was AMAZING. When that car takes off, I think it took my stomach a minute to catch up with me!! we buy my daughter some ice cream to make it up to her.

Then we see the 3pm Beauty & the Beast, that is my favorite, and then grab a spot for the 4pm parade. Another great disney parade. We then do Muppets 3D. I think this shows needs updating. The preshow is way too long and boring, and the 3D show isnt as exicitng as Honey or Bugs. I would really like to see something else in its place.
My husband and sister do Star Tours while the kids I do a little shopping!! I got t-shirts for the kids, dolls for my girls, and a Mickey bib for the baby.

Now for the biggest disappointment of the day...Sci-Fi. Now I loved this place in 1996 when we had lunch. Great burgers and shakes. But dinner is a different story. We all order shakes and then look at the menu and dont see any hamburgers. Only steak, ribs, fish. Yuck! I would have gone to a fancier place if I wanted steak. I ask about burgers, they say nope. We ar eforced to get steak (no bread or salad comes with it though!). The dessert menu has nothing on it that I saw on the online menu, so we skip dessert. I was very bummed. Next time I will make sure we do lunch.

It is 6:45pm and we decide to go and see if we can get into Fantasmic. Luckily we still can, so we park the strollers and rush in. We got seats about 4 rows from the back off to the side a little. They were just fine for viewing, just a little uncomfortable for sitting!
The special effects in the show are great, but I thought the theming of it was a little scary and weird for the kids.

We are all exhausted, lets gert back to the hotel. Once again the water parade was cancelled. We never get to see it.
Tomorrow-Magic Kingdom again

Thanks for posting, your reports are great! :)

but haven't gotten enough courage to do RNR.....I am the big chicken......We did Hollywood and Vine for supper this last visit and really enjoyed it......thanks again for the great reports

The transportation at WL was very easy to use. Bus to AK, EpCot, MGM, water parks. We took bus to Fort Wilderness because we went to the 930 Hoop De Doo and the boat had stopped running. We took boat to MK and Contemporary for dinner at Chef Mickey's.
