This happened at POFQ but with it being so close to OKW and SSR, I truly feel it needs to be shared with DVC members. I know many of you do not read the Resort forums.

Please never assume crime does not happen at Disney, it happens every day.

Please never leave your young children in your room alone, I mention this because of a discussion on the Resorts forum where obviously many do this.

This was forced entry, this was not an inside job. Be alert at all times.

Many people are without jobs right now and many are on crack and they are desperate.

Keep the deadbolt lock on at all times if you are in your room. Check when you arrive to make sure patio and balcony doors are locked.

If you have valuables put them in the safe or leave them at the Front Desk to be locked in the safe there.

Thanks for sharing that Sammie! It is always important to be safe and although i love being in the "bubble", things can happen there as well. I do go to the resorts board but hadn't seen that.

Omg, I always deadbolt the door when we enter our room and dh always tells me I'm being ridiculous now I'm feeling pretty good about taking that extra second to do that. Don't think I would ever leave my kids in the room alone though, not that there is anything wrong with that, just different strokes for different folks. Thanks for posting this.
