I just upgraded our stay from POFQ to WL Nov 3-5 with the new discount code. I called my TA this morning because I forgot to give her my room requests when I upgraded. She called me back about 10 min later with CRO holding on the other line to tell me that bunkbeds are not available in the standard rooms. I told her that I had a standard room in the past and had bunkbeds. She put me on hold and came back and told me that CRO told her that as of this year bunkbeds are only available with woodsview or above. Has anyone else heard of that? :confused3

This change happened about a month ago. Sorry that it affects you. On the bright side, remember that bunkbeds have always been a request, and not a guarantee, so there's no telling whether or not you would have gotten one even if the policy hadn't changed...

They are starting a major remodeling at the Lodge after the first of the year. So this maybe why they aren't accepting any bunkbed request for the standard rooms, even though you said you have previously had bunk beds in a standard room. You may always request Bunk Beds @ check-in they maybe able to upgrade you to a room that has this for you.

But like HookdonWDW said this is just a request, and not a guarantee even if you upgrade to a Woods or Courtyard Room. For the price I would stay with the Standard Room.

What is this major remodeling? We're planning on staying at the Villas in May, but were also thinking of adding a couple days at the Lodge.

Thanks!

I would still request them at check-in, because you just never know.

We had booked a standard room for August, and I had heard that bunks were no longer available in them. I didn't tell my kids, because they were still hoping to have them for our trip. I had told them all along that there was no guarantee, but that I would ask at check-in.

Sure enough, at check-in, I kindly told the CM that my two kids were really hoping for a room with bunks, and were there any available. Yes was the answer, and we ended up with an upgrade to a courtyard view at no additional cost.

Never hurts to ask...the worst that happens is they say no.
