What DVC resorts have bunk beds? Do any 2 BRs have them? It looks like fun!

That's weird - on the Photography board, there's a post of pictures from AKV, and one of the people posted their room, which had a bunk bed in it...

ETA - it's post #15 on the first page of the AKV photos thread...

They have bunk beds at AKLodge, not AKVillas. Fort Wilderness Cabins have bunk beds and are not DVC. WL has bunk beds and is not DVC. VWL does not have bunk beds.

Check the sentence above the photo. That's AKLodge.

The page states AKL they just added to let everyone see the lodge also.

OK - I need to wear my glasses... sorry. :)

Thanks for setting me straight. I'm bummed, though - my nephew would love bunk beds!

I wish they would put bunk beds in some of the studios - it would be nice for families who like to stay in the studios and have kids who do not like to sleep together.

No one listens to me though. ;)

Remember that the more "guaranteed" booking options there are, the greater the chances of not getting the reservation you want.

And, while bunk beds are FANTASTIC for kids of a certain age, they aren't great for families with toddlers or four adults traveling together who are well past the "who GETS the top bunk" stage and into the "I can't climb up there!" stage. The current setup - with the bed and full pullout - isn't perfect, but its the most flexible for the most people.

I agree, as a mother of DD (age 13) & DS (age 10). We have to bring an air mattress.

It would be great if the rooms had one full sleeper sofa and one chair with a twin sleeper. :goodvibes

I think a good change, at least for OKW one bedrooms and larger, would be to change out the Sofa sleeper and love seat to something a little "old fashioned."

Remember in the 60's and 70's they had a corner group type thing, where two single beds were used, one partially slid under a large corner table (similar to the large corner table in the living room areas at OKW). With cushions on the back, the one NOT under the table bacame a sofa, the other became a love seat. They could be made up into separate single beds, or lached together to make a double or queen sized bed.. It would give OKWers a choice of how they wanted them configured, would not make a new "booking category" and would not substantially change the layout of the rooms or what we purchased.

But have haven't seen those types of bed sets in years.

I would definitely consider a dvc resale if they offered studios with bunk beds. Maybe even two queens and a chair that turns into a bed? As it stands now, I would would like to buy 50 points and be able to do a nice vacation every other year for about 100 points.
Hopefully someday (soon would be nice :flower3: ) that will be an option.

I thought I read the new THV will have a set of bunk beds in the third bed room.

I read the same, Denise. But those THV will probably require a whole lot of points since they won't have any studios, one bedrooms or two bedrooms. But what they do have (three bedrooms) will compare to a two bedroom since they only sleep 9. And no king bed.

I won't be staying in THV.

I read that the THV will cost the same number of points as the 2 bedroom villas.

My boys have been begging me for bunk beds ever since they saw the pictures of AKL ;). When they see that THV have bunk beds they won't let me rest until we stay there :lmao:.

I have a feeling I know where we'll be adding on when we have the money to do so ;).

Yes, If you have a boy and a girl, two queens are not a good option. If people are opposed to bunk beds, this would be a perfect solution. I really don't want to have to lug an aero bed on the plane. I also really don't care to have them sleeping on the floor.
I would love to see this setup in a studio, the one bedrooms use more points for a vacation than I would like to spend. They would not have to be in all the studios, just some. What do y'all think.
C'mon Disney, I'll bet you'd sell even more dvc points. I know I'd consider it. :yay:

This would be worth the point to me so the kids can have their own room, the couple going with us as well as ourselves. DH and I have a queen at home so no problem for us. There have been mornings when I've woken up with DH, both DD and I all in our bed.

If original members got stuck in these rooms when they were expecting the standard arrrangement, I'd bet DVC would see a lot of points for sale. I don't stay in studios, but they need to be an industry standard. I bet the THV will be the only DVC with bunk beds.
