Bunk bed rooms

I have a trip booked staying at POFQ with my wife and two boys in August 2020. We have zero issues staying at FQ, however if a discount is offered next year we are prepared to upgrade to Wilderness Lodge and grab a bunk bed room. However, when I go to just look at potential costs there are no bunk bed rooms available. I even checked animal kingdom lodge and they didn't have any bunk bed rooms available either. Is it possible that the rooms are already sold out? Or do they release bunk bed room availability later?

I thought I read somewhere that they are phasing out the bunks with the upcoming (or is it current?) Refurb...? I could be wrong.

Well that would certainly stink and explain why nothing shows as being available. Besides POR what other resorts offer three beds (sofa bed included)?

CBR have similar rooms to POR with the pull-down bed. The higher deluxes have a daybed sofa (twin-sized) — GF, Poly, CR, YC, BC, BW. There are suites at the All-star music, and the suites at AOA. And the cabins at Fort Wilderness have bunk beds. Some of the DVC studio rooms have a bed, sofa bed, and pull-down.

It all just depends on your budget and sleeping preferences. I have 2 DDs that don’t like to share. Youngest is a kicker and a bed-hog. For us, we do the deluxe rooms if we can get a good discount ... otherwise we may have to do 2 values as my eldest is over 18 now.

I have also heard bunk rooms have been phased out but as of now the cabins at Fort Wilderness still have bunks in them

They are probably sold out. We were just “upgraded” three weeks ago from standard to nature view bunk beds. There were others around it as we could see from housekeeping.

I know that they still have bunk bed's as an option. However if you try to select the option, there is no availability.

Until the renovation is completed, there will be some. But as @pschro1 pointed out, you are unable to book one any longer.
