Bumper stickers

I used to have a 1974 Carolina Blue VW SuperBeetle that had 27 stickers on it and the license plate said "SXPISTLS". Yep, bit of a punk rocker.

I don't have any now, except for my "fish" emblem. My "fish" is a little tribal, too. Had to keep that edge! :lmao:

My personal favorite is a sticker I had on my car several years ago. I am an independent voter, and frankly, tend to lean right. However, some people make me crazy. So I used to have a sticker on my car that said, "I'm from NC and I don't support Jesse Helms". At the time, there were a lot of transplants moving here from other parts of the country, and most of them just assumed politically that we all LOVED Jesse. I got LOTS of nasty notes on my windshield. :lmao:

hmmmmm me thinks that is why I am getting my car scratched!!!! Never thought of that at all! I have I support the navy and the army, army wife, we love our hero <then his first name>, army stickers on the back side windows, army one source, and then 1800273talk suicide prevention for <it takes the courage and strength of a warrior to ask for help magnet I got from the VA, That is what I have right now and it is always changing. Well people I guess could be anti government and be the ones keying my car lol uggg

I can't imagine someone would scratch your car because you have pro-military stickers on it. Even people who aren't fond of the govt are almost universally supportive of the troops!

Working in the media, my wife and I can't have political bumper stickers or lawn signs.
I used to have funny bumper stickers on my car, but now that cars don't have chrome bumpers anymore, I'd be afraid I'd ruin the paint on the plastic bumpers.

I agree.

I don't like clutter and bumper stickers on cars are clutter to me. And I don't like to advertise my opinions/beliefs to just anyone. I will admit, though, I hate it when I let someone in front of me in traffic and then I see some hateful bumper sticker (or just something contrary to my views), and I'm kicking myself for letting them in. :lmao: I do get a laugh out of some other people's bumper stickers, though.

There is someone in my subdivision that has a very hateful bumper sticker on their family car. It is right next to the sticker that shows their happy family (mom, dad, two kids, dog and cat). It is truly a very nasty sticker. It makes me dislike them. I know it is childish of me but I refuse to even say Hi to them when I am out walking my dogs. If someone really has that much hate in them and feels the need to advertise it, I want nothing to do with them.

As the pp mentioned, I do enjoy reading the funny ones that other people put on their car.

You have to tell us what this bumper sticker says you know....

I think it's a good way to express yourself and your personality outwardly that, like pretty much every other way of doing that, some people take too far. I've seen a lot that have made me look again and shake my head, wondering why they felt the need to display that for everyone to see. I've also seen some very nice/funny/cute etc ones.

We have two, the team logos of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers. We're both from MI but living in AZ, so it's a way for us to show our pride in where we're from. We also used to have a yellow troops ribbon magnent, but it got stolen. :confused3

Bumper Stickers: I have seen some funny ones, some very offensive ones, one that was even used to identify a vehicle involved in a hit and run ;) (so I guess they can be useful)

Personally, I would not mar my vehicle with them, but I have been known to have a Tink on my rear window :wizard:

I put bumper stickers on my door, since I don't own a car. However, I actually like some of the more sarcastic ones (My Golden Retriever Is Smarter Than Your Honor Student). I'm also a fan of some of the witchcraft ones out there...like "My Other Car Is A Broom" and "Get A Taste of Religion-Lick a Witch". :rotfl:

I've seen some funny ones, and some really offensive ones and the offensive one's always make me think, why would anyone WANT to provoke the sorts of thoughts and feelings I direct at the car driver when I'm offended:confused3 Sort of like middle class tagging (aka graffiti), when you want to offend people but don't want to get in trouble for doing it:laughing: it's pretty lame. Back in NY stupid behavior would get you a dose of easy off to your car, it curbed the stupid... people knew better.

I have spent tons on the yellow ribbon "support our troops" one's but they keep getting ripped off my car, which totally ticks me off, it shouldn't be a political statement... ridiculous times I'm living in I tell ya.

There was this truck I used to get stuck behind sometimes when I drove my DD to school, it said something like I shoot tailgaters & had a pic of a gun.:sad2: I always said I was going to call about it, but never did....I felt uncomfortable riding behind them.

I used to have just a small purple peace frog in the corner of my back window, but the kids at the school peeled it off.

It's not, so I don't know why you are blaming those who don't agree with your political views for removing the stickers. MAYBE people are taking them for their own cars or sometimes those magnets just fall off.

No actual bumper stickers on my car, just my campus parking permit (I guess those stickers can come off on Sunday) and some window clings (one with my college's name on it - practically every car on campus has one, a Red Sox logo and some peace signs). I would never put an actual sticker on my car but I'm totally OK with window clings.

Sure, I bet that's it because everybody knows that no-one ever gets ridiculously upset over opposing points of view.

I have one bumper sticker right now that I bought on my annual trip to Vermont last year. I have a couple other ones that I haven't put on yet(a Disney one and a couple Red Sox ones :thumbsup2)

I'm with the PP--I don't think of "Support Our Troops" as a political statement. I know far-left and far-right people who have those (and who serve in the miltary or have family members in the military).

Yep, back during the 2008 election year I wanted an Obama bumper sticker, but being from the deep South in a heavily Republican area, I thought better for my cars sake.

I have an honor student bs on my bumper, and on my back window I have a "Hey Y'all" with a palmetto tree sticker, and another that says "Wag more, Bark Less".

I really want the one that says "Co-exist" with the different religious symbols on it, but my DH poo-pooed the idea.

I have a University of Central Florida window sticker, a UCF bumper sticker, a "Got Chihuahua?" window sticker, and a "My Dog Likes the Fast Lane" magnet. My dogs and my school are my favorite things :goodvibes
