Totally new to DCL. Just booked Wish for Nov 2022! We are in a Deluxe Family Verandah. Can someone please explain to me pros/cons of a “bump out” room. The center bump out room is available on Deck 8. Does this have some value over other location in same category! Thanks!

The Wish will be the first ship in the fleet to feature the those extended, rounded "bumps" along the Verandah staterooms. If that's what you're referring to, you may have to wait until the Maiden Voyage to hear thoughts from the guests who will be the first ones in those kinds of rooms.

Unless anyone else has sailed on similar ships of that design with other cruise lines, it's a first for us!

They have them on the dream and fantasy, but only in concierge. Still a lot of folks here have sailed in them and can give a better report than me. I’ve seen pictures though and they look great—a much deeper balcony with room for reclining chairs.

If they're like the concierge ones on the dream/fantasy...then yes...they'll have a much bigger balcony. My recollection from when we stayed in 12008 on the Dream is that the room was identical to others in the same class but that the balcony was at least 1.5 times bigger. They accomodate the lounge chairs rather than the regular chairs.

Oh cool, I didn't know that! Learn something new every day :)

Thanks for the input. I ended up going for it and booking the center of the bump out on deck 8, starboard side. According to deck plans it looks like a larger verandah. On a couple blogs it was assumed if drawn to scale the verandah would be slightly larger! Fingers crossed!

We booked the Wish for April and got the "bump out" rooms on Deck 8. Wondering how they look/size too.
