Bump On The Neck?

So I have a dime sized bump on the left side of my neck, near the collar bone area. It has been there for YEARS now. I am not sure exactly how many, I would say maybe 3 years. It isn't painful in any way, I always forget that it's there. It doesn't move, or change size or shape. My brother had lymphoma and died Tuesday morning, so it got me thinking I should get everything checked out and make sure I am in tip top shape. The fact that this bump has been there for years has me thinking it shouldn't be anything serious or I would have felt something by now. It feels and looks the same as it did years ago when I first noticed it. I never did anything about it at first cause I thought it was just an ingrown hair.

Any ideas?

I am sorry for your loss. My brother died of non-hodgens lymphoma so I know how you feel.
I doubt that bump is serious since you have had it for years HOWEVER you need to get it checked. You should never ignore bumps or other things that are out of place or not working right on your body. Make a drs appointment and keep us posted.

I discovered a lump on my husbands neck April 8th. Took him to the drs the following day.... It took so many tests, biopsies, different drs, and 1-1/2 months later he was finally diagnosed wth the Hodgkins disease. He started treatment (chemo) the Tuesday following our daughter's wedding in June. Now he is doing well but never - and I mean never let anything go that is suspicious. He had no symptoms but the lump and we do not know how long he had it. Get it checked - it may be nothing but better to be safe!
