Bumming BIG TIME!

I think I had made mention that I really wanted a piece of jewelery on our trip...well Columbian Emeralds didnt have the ring that I wanted in stock SO with all of the "free stones" that were available I saved those...hoping to get a ring made I brought them home...so I go to the first Jeweler...who was going to make a me a ring with 2 dolphins holding a emerald cut blue topaz stone between its 2 dorsal fins...well...the jewler that I brought it to...can you say his customer service SUCKED! I have never been so mad! So, after a month he still hadnt worked on my ring...so I decided to look around...now keep in mind I really wanted to use this stone...so, I went to a friend of mine and found this ring I really FELL IN LOVE WITH! So, she asked the inventory guy if they could get this for a 8X6 stone..I just got off the phone with her and they cant... so, here I am bumming...b/c I have the stone...no ring...and cant get the ring I want...

So, I made a command decision...I'm just going to get the ring that was at my friends store that I fell in love with! Grant it -it isnt from Naussa...it doesnt have anything on it that would remind me of Nassau...but I have the story and the stone that I will have to see what I can do with...but I have a ring that I love and the stone is much darker than mine...its the color of the ocean...ahhh...to be there again sometime soon...

I guess I'll have to deal.

Can you get the stone you bought in Nassau made maybe into a necklace or something to go along with the ring?? I did kind of the same thing in St. Marten years ago with 3 blue topaz stones and I couldnt find anyone around me that could make the ring the way I wanted it...so...my mom had the blue topaz made into a necklace and 2 small earrings and they were my "something blue" for my wedding day! Now I treasure them because of the memory they give me AND I do have the ring I wanted but I didnt buy it in St. Marten but yet I still have fond memories of my trip.

I have a necklace that I wear everyday the BF gave me. I cherish it and dont think I will ever take it off...I took it off once on the trip to wear the pearls that I caught during the jewlery talk...but other than that it hasnt come of in like 2+ years....The stones were free-if you went up to the shopping expert-or who ever she was...and said "naussa has everything" she gave you coupons for free jewlery..they werent anything special...2 loose gem stones, a gold charm bracelette with a couple of charms...but nothing huge...I'm sure the stones are lab created...but they hold a good story...

I also go a blue saphire...so what I was thinking was collecting stones on every trip and them making a bracelette of all of them...it will take a lot of trips but should be worth it in the end...Hey! I love to travel and BF is finally starting to realize there is more to life then work...so who knows maybe I'll get lucky!

I love the "something blue" idea...some day maybe...

I guess I'll have to see what I can find and what might work...unfortunately the setting I want has to be fit exactly to the stone...if someone was willing to get me another stone that would be fantabulous! Then I would make earrings!

I guess we will see what happens...

If you haven't already bought the ring...

I see you're from syracuse, I'm on Long Island, & there is a jewler out here who custom designs all kinds of jewelry especially rings, they have a web site, I can't remember the name but I'll find out if you want it. Maybe since you are in NY they can work with you. Good luck either way-- hey have the stone made into something else & get the ring you want-- that's 2 pieces of jewelry, & I think we all know that the only thing better than a new piece of jewelry is TWO new pieces!!! Good luck!
