Because STS-133 is now delayed to early Feb, the last shuttle, STS-134 has been bumped back to April. :(

As I'm at WDW from the Feb 25th through to March 11th it means I'll miss both launches. :( Bummer as I really wanted to see one more before they stopped flying.

Well, the good way to look at it is that it might mean another quick trip in April! :)

We are there 19th-26th Feb, hope its delayed again and falls within our week.

I have given up trying to see a launch, weve booked several times over the years and have been dissapointed several times , given up now.
Wayne, no doubt it will be:thumbsup2

Feeling a bit greedy now, seen 3 but would love to see a 4th.
Could have seen another 2 but didn't think it was worth the drive over a few years back, kicking myself now, well worth the drive.

I can hardly believe that given how many times weve booked holidays to see them!!! :headache:

Lol Wayne!

Well, as long as someone benefits from the schedule change. ;)

And I agree with you, it is totally worth it. The way the wall of sound takes ages to reach you after the shuttle launches, etc. Totally unique.

But the good news is my partner is already planning to book flights for April! :)

Sorry to hear this, but buying a last minute ticket and flying out just for the launch is how I saw my last one. (See my Sig and Youtube link)

And I'd do it another 10 times to see one again. It's an amazing experience.

Thank you for posting your video, I can't wait to show it to my son. He is 7 and has autism. Recently I bought my husband the space shuttle simulator (like flight simulator) and my little one has been playing with it. Last minute for Christmas he asked me for a space shuttle toy! I was so proud of myself for finding one (Flight Deck store at NAS Pensacola), and when he opened it he says...but where are the boosters and the external tank?? (Duh Mom!) Last night I was going to do a search on my ipod and noticed that the previous search was "space shuttle free", so I helped him download a NASA app and he told me all about shuttles.

So, you can understand how excited I was to see that there is (WAS) a launch Feb 3 when we will be in Orlando! Well...just saw that it won't be happening. The good news is, I have a daughter in school at UCF and whenever it does get rescheduled we will do our best to be there!!

Can you tell me why it was $400 (I saw in your signature)?

Discovery's last flight has been delayed again due to the repairs on the external tank.

They are meeting to set a launch date this week but the earliest will be Feb 24. I would guess this means Endeavor will be delayed again too but nothing has been said about that yet.

What a shame you will miss it. Will you be able to get a refund on your causeway tickets? I would absolutely love to nab a couple of those - we watched one from the rocket garden before and was kind of disappointed.

As far as I can see I believe Endeavour is now scheduled for April 1st at 3.15am. . As this is the day we arrive I think we are going to miss it but given all the recent postponements there might be a slight chance we get to see another one.
Here's hoping:)

Feb 24th will be ideal for us. :thumbsup2

We had scheduled our 21 Feb to 14 March visit around the last shuttle launch and were disappointed that it has been delayed to April. If Discovery goes on 24 February then it may make up for this.

Watching with interest :surfweb:

Can't believe that the same shuttle we saw 3 months ago is still sat there waiting to go! I saw Endeavour go up approx 16 years ago, and it was incredible! We made a promise not to book our trip last year with the intention of seeing a launch, as it is just not worth the stress! Better to just book a random date and hope that a delay takes place! :upsidedow

My parents are still trying to get there money back from a tour operator in Orlando after paying for 'VIP' tickets to the launch in Nov 10 that never happened - expensive business these Shuttle launches!!!

I kind of hope it gets pushed back to later in April so we can see it, I saw the trail of one from our pool a good few years ago - it looked like a huge shooting star in the sky, I'd love to see one go up close!

I wonder if there will be some impact on the launch date for STS-134, given the recent tragedy affecting the commander's wife. :(

Oooh, that'd be amazing if it was on April 1st!

Funnily enough we were scheduled for a MK shoot at 5.30am that morning, so would have had to be up at 3 for make up, but we aren't doing the shoot anymore.

If it does go ahead do you think it's likely many guests will get up to watch it?

We'll be at the Boardwalk then, so it'd be amazing to watch it from somewhere around the lake. :)

No problem, glad you liked it.

Well, getting hold of tickets can be really hard. They usually sell out within about 3 minutes. However the packages last longer because they are more expensive so we bought two tickets including breakfast with an astronaught which bumped up the price.

If you do come down for the re-schedule of the lauch I might see you there as STS-133 has now moved to the point where it'll be during my vacation. :)

So, from origianlly wanting to see 134 to seeing 133 on almost the same date wasn't what I expected but I'll take what I can get.

Time to hit US eBay and hunt some tickets down... :)
