Does anyone how much the bulk candy costs at the parks? Is it per pound, are there other options like a set price to fill a container?

I never even considered buying those candies before because I figured it would be really expensive, but now I'm wondering if maybe it's not that bad.

I don't think I have every seen bulk "penny:lmao:" type candy except for maybe a jelly belly dispenser.

It is THAT bad and it runs upwards of $12 a pound. You can get at least half of those candy options at Walgreens in the 'movie box' ouch for anywhere from $1-1.50 all the time which typically have anywhere from 6-10 oz in them. For example SweetTarts are 6oz in the movie box for $1 at Walgreens, that same 6 oz in a plastic bag at WDW would be $4.50.

So its just plain old "penny" bulk candy? :confused3

Why bother, just bring your own even if you have to fly with it.

Now some have asked about candy from WS and that's another thread.

Like most things at Disney, the candy is way overpriced compared to offsite. My sister bought a bag of taffy from one of the giftshops for my kids. It was $7 for 6 or 8 ounces at the most. Of course they finished it the first day and wanted more. We stopped at Target and bought a huge bag for $2.50 that lasted the rest of the 10 day trip. Now I always buy a bag of taffy and a bag of chocolates for treats in the park. You can even get those big swirl lollipops for $1 at Target or WalMart.

But the candy you get in a box is NOT the same! So says my husband. You cannot buy it at Wal Mart (and he shops there every week). You cannot buy it anywhere else EXCEPT at Disney World. You HAVE to get it in those bags at Mouse Gears or Downtown Disney or wherever. You HAVE to.

Trust me, it's not the same. And it's a vice he loves and I love him for it so keep the magic alive for him. He eats no other candy but the Disney stuff.

Oh, my! It is very expensive. We went into the Candy Cauldron and they had a whole wall of bulk candy. My kids were so excited and asked if they could each get a bag. Well, they grab their little bags and started filling it with different types of their favorite candy. I didn't see the sign with the price, and besides, how heavy can that little bag of candy be???? Well, the lady at the register rang their bags up and it was over $30!!!! For CANDY!!! I almost DIED right there in the store! If they had a place where you could weigh it yourself, which they didn't, you could at least see what you were paying!!! I mean, a pound of candy isn't as much as you think it is! I suggest you go to Walmart and stock up on your family's favorite candy and put it in your backpack and take it to the parks.
