Building preference at SSR?

Last year we stayed at The Springs. We liked the fact that it was close proximity to the main pool/Artist's Palette/etc. We liked that pool because the little ones could easily get in and out without a problem. But we would have liked a BBQ area nearby. Although I have never actually seen the BBQ areas. Because they dont assign your room until you get there, I don't know what we will get this year but am just wondering what you think about....

The Grandstand? Pool? BBQ Area? Proximity to things?

Congress Park? Pool? BBQ area? Proximity?

We stayed in the Grandstand area and there was a small BBQ area near to the Grandstand pool. Lovely location.

We stayed in Grandstand as well and were really happy with the location

The walk to the main building and pool was very short, even with a 4 year old

Most important to us, that section is the first to be picked up and dropped off with buses so our kids always had a seat

The Grandstand pool was a big hit with my kids, even without a slide

We have always stayed in Congress Park as we travel with four teenagers and the proximity to DTD is great for them. That quiet pool is very nice, with a great view of DTD.

This trip we are trying the Grandstand as it has had so many good reviews. We will test it next week and when we return with the whole crew in April we may return.

I would recommend Grandstand too. Last year we were there ans had both direct access to a pool with BBQ plus it was a 5 mn walk to the main pool through a lovely pathway, no road to cross.

If your priority however is walking to Downtown Disney, then it is a bit remote.

There is a nice bar-b-que area and children's play area near the pool at Cognress Park also. It is a short walk to DTD marketplace side. The Grandstand area is close to the walkway to DTD westside and also the boat dock to DTD. Will happily stay in either of these areas.

We stayed in the Grandstand section on our November '07 trip. We were in the 8000 section which is where the bus stop is located. You are the first ones to be picked up and the first ones dropped off.

The pool is very nice and has a bbq picnic area right by the pool so you can swim and cook. It is a short distance to the main building and the main pool area. You can take the boat launch from the main building to DTD or choose to walk the distance.
