building across from Peter Pan???

I went to WDW in high school and I remember riding the SkyWay. I got some great pictures from up there. It was a great time. I was bummed that it closed.:sad1: But I'm like everyone else that's wondering what they will be doing with those buildings.

Oh ya! It was the skyway ride from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland. Now it's just stroller parking.LOL:banana:

I was always surprised that with theme park real estate being as valuable as it is that they allow those buildings to sit empty.
Look at what they did with the 20,000 leagues area, they turned that area into a character meet and greet and a lame playground, they could have done sooooo much more! I would have loved to see another Fantasyland dark ride.

Heh, I remember getting stuck for a little while on the Skyway when I was a kid back in the 70s.

A couple of years ago, they had two characters and a meet and greet along that path. That was the one time I have ever seen anything there since the attraction closed.

On our first trip in 2001, that was a meet and greet area (the one in Fantasyland) for Pinnochio and friends. That was kinda cool. I've never seen him there since that time though.

:offtopic:

On the Fantasyland side, the skyway station is just a small structure.
It is sandwiched between the massive ride buildings for Haunted Mansion and iasw.
There is very little room for anything large to be built there.

Robo: I LOVE your skyview pictures of the different parks. They're awesome. I also think it is REALLY WEIRD to see CARS parked behind HM and IASW!!! That's like, real life, man. What are they DOING there??!!?? There's no place for REAL LIFE at WDW!!!!

. . . . And now back to your regularly scheduled thread . . .

Take the Backstage Magic Tour to have a whole new perspective on how reality meets fantasy.

I can't blame them for taking out the ride though. There's one in Lagoon (SLC, UT), and you never want to walk under it because people are always spitting or dropping stuff. Not everyone can have class.

We can't WAIT to do that. DS is only 12 though and I think he has to be 16. So we have a little while to wait. I don't mind though, because 16 will be here too fast anyway!!! It is something to look forward to though. (although I bet DS will be thinking of DRIVING rather than a tour at Disney as a milestone for 16!!!!! :scared1:  :faint: :faint:

The first vacation I took with my now husband and then boyfriend we rode The Skyway, in October 1998. It's a bit nostalgic thinking about it now. It was a great view and for a first time visitor it was a great introduction.

How did the Skyway make that almost 90 degree turn near what is now the Toon Town Fair?

You should have been there when I had try and explain where the river went that was supposed to be in front of the castle. :rotfl2: :lmao:

I remember riding that when I was younger, I never knew why it closed down though.

I thought this WAS a restaurant!! I was convinced it was Pinocchio's Village Haus. I'd been getting really confused from the park maps and reviews saying it was in a different location........ :headache:

Now it all makes sense!!! It would be great if they did convert it into a restaurant so I would feel less stupid.......

The Little Mermaid ride rumors for the 20K area are once again surfacing along with a couple of other ride rumors for WDW Fantsyland.

From the Blue Sky Buzz......

Here is an excerpt......
Blue Sky Buzz (Orlando): It's Just A Fantasy...

...............
Imagine that Little Mermaid attraction we talked about before... it's basically going to be the ride we have here, although it might be a bit smaller and the exterior should be envisioned differently, but all around Fantasyland you'll notice a great deal of detail and a great deal of difference in a bout four or five years if it all comes to pass.

How would you like to get through with your adventures with Ariel and Sebastian and walk out looking around the Florida sunshine basking in that new roller coaster that's been put in for Disney Fans/Geeks to ride. A roller coaster? What are you talking about? The one themed to the Seven Dwarfs, that one. Lavishly made up with details that are closer to something you'd see in Tokyo that stateside, but it's there...........

Pinocchio's Village Haus is the one that over looks Small World. You can get a window seat, eat pizza and wave to the boats as they head in. :)

haha this is hilarious because I had taken a picture of it when we were there this past weekend to post on here and ask the same thing. Funniest thing is that I had NEVER noticed it before and we were there once or twice a week last year for 6 months!
