I saw that you can fill a box with Mr. Potatoe Head parts at a store in DTD for 12.00 is this a good deal? Are there any other good deals I should watch for? We are taking our son 2yrs and daughter 4yrs in Oct. and thought we would look around DTD one afternoon.
Thanks

My sister did that last year for her daughter and it is a great deal. Basically you get a box and there are large tubes of parts that make a circle - whatever you stuff in the box you get for 1 price. She got another body - stuffed that first, put it into the box, and then filled away!! There are also Disney specific parts which are very cool!!! She is a huge bargain hunter so when she told me it was a great deal I trusted her. I seem to recall there may have been similar setups for other things but I we didn't do those so I just don't remember!

I will also agree that this is an excellent deal. I decided to do this last year for a unique souvenir. If you do decide to do it, just keep in mind that the box must close, or they will make you take items out. You can stuff items in the body of the potato head and then add more on and around in the box. I fit quite a few items in there, and was really surprised it closed. I did see several people who were turned away and told to remove some items so the box could be closed, though, so it is something enforced.

Do you have to buy the "head"? I thought if I brought ours from home, that would free-up a lot of space in the box.
Planned on getting additional pieces as a souvenier gift for her preschool class to add to their 'tata head toys in her room.

No, you do not have to buy the head, you can just fill the box with parts.

Here are some of the Disney parts you can buy (I have my guy sitting on my desk at work):
Mouse ears
Mickey ice cream bar
Mickey balloon
Tea cup (to sit in; foot area)
Feet with WDW sandals
Mickey glasses
Autograph book complete with Mickey's signature
Sorcerer's hat
Mickey movie camera

If I'm not mistaken, I saw a little pirates set of accessories in a box in Adventureland too.

When we were there they also had a similar set-up for Tinker Toys and Lincoln Logs--as many as you can fit into a box for a set price. The Mr. Potato Head was the most popular though.

Also, so everyone can get a feel for how much you can fit in the box and in the potato, I put all of the above mentioned in my box, along with the following:
Ears, arms, an extra Mickey bar, four sets of eyes, three mouths, two noses, a moustache, hair, and a baseball cap.

The price of this has gone up to $16:00 or $17:04 with tax.
YOu can get a lot in the box if you take your time and pack it well.
We have even seen people just bet boxes of mickey hats or icecreem.baloons as long as it closes its fine.

This is also in Animal Kingdom but we have more pieces at OUAT.

Most CM's will help you pack your box if we are not too busy.

I am crazy about this. I have Mr. P.H. on my desk at work as a constant smile maker. I can't wait to go back and get another box full of stuff!

I keep mine in my office and change him around every week or so. This week is Frontierland Mr. Potato Head. Next trip I am getting the pirate set.

:D

I brought our "bodies" from home and we packed our box with tons of pieces. We repacked it several times to get even more pieces in the box. We were very careful about how we laid the pieces so that we were able to get the most for our money. I love to set ours out around the kids room and change them from time to time. I am planning on taking pieces with me this fall into my classroom and setting a potatoe head up for a Disney smile each day. I love the idea of having it at work because it really is cute!

OK, so I am not the only nutball out there with a Disney Mr. Potato Head on my desk.
I change mine every Friday, to count down the weeks until my next vacation. 21 more outfits to go!

Do you think they will give the 10% "Christmas in July" discount to Annual Passholders on this? or is it a special sale?

Maddle

This sounds like the best idea!!! Which store in DTD can you get this at?!
