Build you own lightsaber question

Just got home from disney and we did this. Couple questions for those of you who have these.

1) I hear of people talking about crystals to change the sounds. Do they still use these? Where are they found on the saber?

2) it was loud in the store, so hard to hear. When I got home I realized when you turn it on, it continues to make a humming noise. Sounds like a lightsaber but want to make sure this noise is normal as I don't remember hearing it in the store.

3) after about a minute, it makes the power down noise and the light shuts off. Just seems awful fast to shut off already. Power saving feature I am sure, but still happens pretty quickly. Normal?

Unscrew the end of the handle. The crystals are in there. I didn't/don't know if they change the noise, though.

Ours does hum constantly, until it's being swung. If you swing it around does it shut down? Ours only shuts down if it's not being swung.

Found the crystals. If you remove two and leave one in at a time, the start up noise and hum are slightly different. Cool. They didn't tell us about those.

As for swinging, I just tested it the best I could but it still turned off after about a minute, maybe even less.

When not being swung how long does yours take to shut down? Still sure mine is fine. Can't believe how big if is! My son loves it.
