How much is it to get a bear at Build a Bear?

Can you theoretically do it for less than $30 if you use only minor accessories?

I have a friend who is having a really bad week, and has never even heard of build a bear, and I think a visit may be just what she needs.

As long as you don't go overboard on the accessories, under $30 is easily doable.

I only did 1 and it came to about $35. I got a bear and 1 outfit. I think I may have gotten a couple of accessories too. So under $30 is doable.

I see that a basic bear is $18. Do they charge for the stuffing? I know that's probably a dumb question...

You can get a bear for $10-$12. They have other animals, and the most expensive one is approximately $22. You can get an outfit for around $12.

They don't charge for the stuffing, no. If the basic bear is $18, then if you get nothing else, your total will be $18 + tax. It's the clothes and accessories that really up the price. Fortunately my daughter doesn't care much about the clothes and accessories ;) We have about 6 or 7 of them.

I think I am going to take my friend this weekend. She will love it.

No Problem.

They have small, basic bears for just $10.00
You can dress them up quite a bit if you start with one of those or you could do a more expensive animal and not go overboard on the clothes. Just a cute t-shirt is fun too.

You can get the basic small bear for $10. You then can record a message on a chip to put in the paw for around $8. Add a simple T for $5.

What a great idea!

I agree you can do it for under $30 if your careful with the accessories. That is what brings your total up. But they really do have some inexpensive accessories.

Great Idea. Tell her to make a speical wish on the heart before they sew it up.

Best of Luck.
