Thinking of purchasing a 2010 Buick Lacrosse FWD not sure between CXL or CXS. Has anybody had any experience (good or bad) with this car?

Also has anyone gotten any good deals on a Buick lately? If so any tips you have would be appreciated.

Thanks!:)

Nice Car as far as the looks go. I've been car shopping to and have looked at one, so I am waiting for people to respond also.

I don't know anything about this car, but we are done buying new cars. If you buy a lightly used 2009 model, you can save a bundle and still have a warranty for quite a while. Just my 2 cents :thumbsup2! --Katie

Not sure I agree on this because since they destoyed alot of the clunkers, the price for slightly used cars and trucks have increased in values. With some new cars they are offering rebates so in some cases you save more by buying the new car.

We just bought a new car yesterday & the best thing I did was go to www.edmunds.com - find the car (s) your are looking at and get the True Market Value price on them. Basically it gives you an average of what people are actually buying the car for right now. It was very interesting because one of the cars I was looking at was about $1600 over invoice, but still under MSRP, and the other car was $300 under invoice. I took it to 2 dealers and we ended up getting exactly that price. It was very easy - I just pulled out the print out and said Im not paying higher than this. Of course you always wonder if you could have gotten a better deal, but we are happy.

I would also agree w/ the PP that said slightly used cars are not quite the bargain they were 2 years ago. I bought a used 2 yrs ago and thought I would do so again, but I just couldn't find a good deal on the car I wanted.

Check out the new Buick Regal, too, which is trickling into dealers around now.

It's a little smaller (but still very much a mid-size sedan) and sportier, but it is built in Germany and has superior build quality. A Regal CXL is priced around a Lacrosse CX, so you'll also get a lot more equipment for the money.

I agree, definitely check out the true market value at edmunds.com. DH bought a Nissan Titan in February. We check Edmunds and offered $1500 less than what the True market value was and also asked that they throw in a bedliner and much to our surprise they gave it to us at that price. While there the sales person offered to get me out of my Toyota Highlander. We kicked the idea around for a month or so and then decided to see what kind of deal they would offer us on a Pathfinder. They first offered a price about $1000 more than Edmunds. We went home and thought about it and since we weren't totally set on trading we countered with $2000 less than Edmunds. They ended up coming down to $1500 less than Edmunds which was still a good deal so we took it.

I should add that dh and I have not been good at dealing for cars in the past. We usually just paid whatever they were offering and never counter offered. We were proud of ourselves this time.
